There are a few alterations I made to this blade. It is perhaps one of my most used blades and will continue to be.

Thanks guys. The file work is some old work I did. I have a few others I have done also...

Did you measure the lockbar and then calculate how many cuts you did on each side? Don't tell me you just eye balled it. I'd definitely have to measure and create some sort of pattern/template before attempting that.

Sorry to say...I eye balled them. I have tried to make measurements and lay out a pattern and I can tell you every time the file walks a fraction of a mm one way or another...it will be a TINY amount but the eye will pick it up every time!

For this reason I free hand it and adjust the spacing/pattern as I go to correct the drift. It is complicated to explain but the result is the pattern flows in a way that is more appealing to the eye. (not every curve is exactly the same...but it flows "naturally")

I'm rollin' in here from your Stretch modification thread and darn it if I'm not highly impressed again! Those Enduras look awesome, Unit!

How cool!

 Wow, I'd better skip the Rockstar and Starbucks before attempting. :D

LOL. I had 5 espresso shots at my side as I started on this one this morning. Though, I drink WAY too much coffee every day, so it is not like I get jittery.

On second thought, a coffee with a shot of espresso before attempting may be good. I hear ya on the too much coffee part.:o

Dear Mr. unit: I will be shamelessly stealing your ideas and modding my own Enduras. :D I will send you a Starbucks card every once in a while as a royalty payment. That cool? :p

I remember the first time I took an Endura 4 apart, I had the same kinds of ideas, taking a dremel and working over some of the parts. I might be able to come up with some nice mods, but yours is definitely a standard to look up to. Thanks for sharing.

Your are a swell guy. Feel free to use any inspiration I provide...I am flattered.

One of the things I looked into was making a different back spacer for the Endura. I started on an aluminum one, and really got into it . . . until I remembered the tabs that lock it into the liners. Oops. Without them, spring tension goes right out the window.

I'm starting that little project again here soon, where I'll drill a hole for a pin that will replace the tabs. I just need more space in my work area than I have right now. When I'm done with the first couple of them, I'll parcel them out and get folks' opinions of them.
