THE RULES HAVE CHANGED AND THE BIDDING EXTENDED! PLEASE SEE BELOW.

!!Special Knife at New York Custom Show!!

Emerson Knives wishes to announce a very special silent auction to be held at the upcoming New York Custom Knife Show.

Ernest has made a very special CQC-6 to comemmorate the events of September 11th.

100% of the final selling price will be donated to a charity providing relief to the children of the victims of the World Trade Center attack. Our very own Jbravo will be assisting us with the coordination of this project.

Ernest and Mary will be in attendance along with their family. We really want everyone to know that life is going on as normal. These terrorists are not going to alter the way our lives will go on.

In addition to the Commemorative CQC-6, Ernest will have several other custom pieces available at the show.

Please join us at the at the event and show your support for the victims and their families as well as to show these...um..."people" (:barf: ) that the United States will not stand down during this time.

In response to Ed's question, I have come up with a way for anyone unable to attend the show to place a bid. This is a bit complicated so bear with me.

We have shifted gears a bit. In order to raise as much money as possible for teh Twin Towers Orphan Fund, the selected charity, we will be posting the high bid at any given time. Bids will be in $50.00 increments.

If you know you are not going but would like to bid, you can email me here. You are always welcome to mail me at home but NO BIDS SENT TO THE HOME ADDRESS WILL BE INCLUDED.

Please submit your bid along with all of your contact information in case you are the winner. The close of the off site bidding has been changed to 1530, Friday, November 2nd. Ernest will be calling me shortly thereafter to find out the high bid.

I will be collating all of the bids and keeping the site updated as much as I am able. The current high bidder is our very own Ed Moses with a generous bid of $1751.00

If any of this does not make sense, let me know and I will try to be clearer.

We hope to see you all at the show.

Derek,

Is there any way that the Usual Suspects that cannot be at the show can take part in this auction?

Also can I please e-mail you with an entry for the custom draw - it is about the only way I will ever get to pay retail for one!!

Thank you to Ernie for making this gesture.

Regards,

Ed

Derek,
Please tell Ernie that it means alot to me that he and his family are coming to NYC for the very reasons he mentioned.
Fear can be a powerful weapon...Unless we disarm it.

There is a new poster around town that says "I love NY...more than ever." Times here have been rough but New Yorkers have pulled together and are doing our thing in spite of it all. It really aggravates me when I hear people from as close as the NY suburbs talking about how they are scared to come into Manhattan. Each time I hear that it strikes me as a victory for the bad guys. Ernie, that you and your family are coming says a whole lot. New York is better than ever. Can't wait to see you all.

"Class Act"! - as usual...My hat is off to EE and Family (and all the folks in the background at EKI).

Derek,

You will not be suprised to hear that you have mail..

Regards,

Ed

Will EE and company be bringing left handed production knives? Lefty Psark or Lefty commander?

Or a lefty waved 7????

Figures. I won't be able to make it. Mom's wedding. Nothing like being only a 2 hour drive (well, for me :D) from a chance at Emerson customs and not being able to do it. Looking forward to Blade...

Chris,

If you read Derek's post, you will see that you can e-mail him with a bid on the "special" CQC6 - not all is lost!

Regards,

Ed

Thank you

Edit: Better pictures added

That is a cool looking knife - I have to wonder if I got my bid correct.... :D

Is it really worth more than $50?

Regards,

Ed

Good luck Ed! Oh and a big thumbs up for such an excellent contest even if I cannot take part. Its stuff like this that makes me proud to be a KnifeKnut.

Best,

In case you didn't see Derek's edit above, the bidding is open to all. Plenty of time for more bidding from outlanders!

Fellow forumites,

If a "standard" no date CQC6 can be worth $1900, what is this one worth? What am I saying - please do not bid... :p :p

Regards,

Ed

I could take part... do you think they would accept $100 though? Counts me out then! That was my point.:(

Heck I just can't afford to bid for a knife like this.

Those hand made checkers must have taken an AGE to do!
