A Very Special Announcment From Emerson Knives

I just got off the phone with Mary and it seems that the bid for the Commemorative Knife is right at $3000.00

There you have it. The bar has been raised a bit. Sorry to see Ed out of the running but it is for a good cause.

Y'all still have about 4 hours to put in your bids. Bladelaw, where are you :D

Just got off the phone with Mary again. Looks like we were a bit high on the bidding.

The actual current bid is $2650.00

What do you think now Bladelaw ;)

The title just about says it all.

The offsite auction bidding is officially closed. Thank you to all who submitted a bid.

To the best of my knowledge at this time, the top bid is $2650.

I will try to keep updating as I hear from the Emersons' over the weekend.

Derek, jbravo,

Can we please have an update on the bidding for this special knife?

I now that remote bidding is closed, but I may have found some more money!! (I think I will sell my wife and son at a yard sale today).

Regards,

Ed

Do you know how much the knife went for and who bought it?

Regards,

Ed

Ed, I left but I can tell you it went for at least 2700. I'm not sure the buyer would be comfortable with me posting his name but if he comes to BF and reads this maybe he'll let us know. Gotta figure somebody that into Emersons comes here.

Well, that would be me. I am the happy owner of the engraved 6, even if it is a bittersweet reminder as well as heartfelt pledge of retribution.

I think Ernest and EKI should be commended for the idea and the extreme generosity that this knife's auction represents. To my knowledge, out of ALL the knifemakers and associated businesses represented at the NYC show - and they represented the best and most successful of the industry - only Emerson donated a knife to help those personally affected by the events of 9/11.

Congratulations on the acquisition and I appreciate you stepping forward to assisting those who have lost so much.

Your generosity hopefully will be repaid many times over in ways that most individuals may not be aware of.

I also feel that Ernie as well as the "Company" are to be commended for their actions in making this knife and donating the sale proceeds to a very worthwhile cause.

JBravo,
Congratulations.
That's a beautiful and surely rare edition. What a noble cause as well. Makes me proud to be a "Suspect" associated w/ people like yourself.
Enjoy, like to see this one.....

It couldn't have gone to a better guy! Congratulations!

John,.
No one could have predicted this before.:D

Congratulations jbravo, that you did for a good cause!
You sure have handled the best and rarest of Emersons.

Thanks for the kindness you showed.
Warmest wishes,
oliver

jbravo: Congratulations Sir. A beautiful knife earned for a good cause!

jbravo,
As always, you continue to show class, generosity, and the best of the best qualities that members of our ranks possess. Myrespect and admiration to you as always. Also, one very special piece of steel and piece of history. jbravissimo.

Thanks to all for the good wishes. As an eyewitness to the Trade Center destruction and its continuing daily aftermath, getting this knife is meaningful to me.

I think it bears repeating that the true contribution lies in the creation of knife, the desire to put it to good use, and the generous donation of its auction proceeds. That came from Ernie directly, and would have regardless of who the high bidder was. That degree of concern and effort is uncommon and highly commendable.

jbravo,

I should have known that it was a fix when I saw that you were involved in running the auction!!!!!

Well done on getting a great knife.

Regards,

Ed

Good job Jbravo! Can't wait to see more pics on it.

My hats off to the Emersons for putting up a "One of a kind" custom and giving the proceeds to a much needed charity.

Feels good to be part of the guys (and now girls too) in here.
