Looking for best strength weight ratio.

Can you think of a strong folder that is light enough to ware in slacks? Looking for best strength weight ratio.

Your input appreciated.

If I was looking for a lite weight folder for slacks, it would probably be a Spyderco FRN handle VG-10 50/50 serrated 4" blade folder. Maybe a waved Endura..?? It's Lite and inexpensive with high end steel. And in the $40-50 price range, it won't be the end of the world if it gets lost.

Hi eel, What do you think of the William Henry titan? used to be called quest or something?

It's kind of expensive for an edc knife. But I hear the ZDP-189 is good stuff, and if the frame is titanium it must be lite.

I guess I would have to second the William Henry series of knives. They are about the thinnest that I would consider to be an EDC. As far as expensive, yes they cost more than the benchmades and spydies, but not as much as some of the customs that I EDC. I have a 8 year old W/H ATS34 spearpoint that is very strond and holds an edge as well as anything and better than most. Steven

William Henry makes a great product, personally I'm partial to CRK. Either their Mnandi or small Sebenza would do nicely.;)

Any folder from CRK, but for bang for the buck factor a Benchmade mini Skirmish is a great value! I love my mini Skirmish. Buck Mayo also have a light frame lock for around 150 to 200. Its not a recurve though. I know everyone is going to say sebbie so I thought I'd through these two lines out there for you.

Since we're throwing in the BM mini-Skirmish and Buck Mayo, we may-as-well throw in the Bradley Alais. I like the Sebenza better than the Bradely, but the Bradley costs half as much. Both are good knives.
:)

I vote for the Boker Subcom Folder -- It doubles as a money clip, I've been carrying it now for over a week and barely notice it/forget it's there. Plus I clip my 'honey do list' to it.

Cold Steel Voyager is an excellent choice for light weight, strength and concealability, not to mention, very good edge holding and corrosion resistance. There are fancier knives but the Voyager line is a good practical choice IMHO.

You should consider carbon fiber handled models, for light weight, strength, and looks.

Spyderco CF models come in various sizes.. though availability is limited and varies by model.

I've read that BladeTech knives are very nice.. and they offer CF models that are reasonably priced, and nicely spec'd. I have never handled one.

Look at the BM 940,942,960 series. Very light, super strong, Thin enough for dress but substantial enough to use.

I agree with this and the above mentioned Benchmade 707...

My 940 is thin, light, and very smooth and a tougher folder than you might think.

I am going to suggest a Small Sebenza or a Mnandi. The Mnandi is small, but a very tough knife.

Buck Mayo TNT is what came to mind immediately.

I where khakis pretty much every day though and carry either a BM 710, Emerson HD-7 and Strider SnG pretty much all the time. Along with a Fallkniven U2 or Hideaway knife in the other pocket.

The small Sebenza is both strong and light. I doon't think there's a more relaible frame lock out there. If you are willing to be patient, good deals on used ones come up on the "for sale" forum on a regular basis.

I wear dress pants most of the time. (Part of my "uniform" at work).

A Spyderco Chinook II fits easily. It's comfortable, and the clip isn't too tight to cause you to fumble the draw. It's big and hefty, but not as heavy as it looks.
