A very strong folder that you could ware in slacks?

Pick up a Kershaw Random Leek when they come out!!!! I had one (plain edge) back when you could only get them through Chesapeake Knife and Tool, and it ruled! Compact, light, good materials (S30V blade), frame lock, and very strong for its size. Unfortunately, I lost it while on a date (it fell out of my pocket somewhere). I will not hesitate to pick up a new one (the only thing that bugs me is the fact that Kershaw won't be releasing them in a plain edge)!

I EDC a spidie delica. It disappears in the pocket, and does everything I need it to do when I'm wearing slacks. Except decapitate zombies.

My best strength:weight ratio in a relatively large folder is my Spyderco carbon fiber/BG-42 Military.

In a relatively small folder, my Kershaw titanium/ZDP-189 Leek would be the winner.

Best strength to weight ratio for any smaller pocket carry knife is in my opinion the HK29/14210 folder with axis lock and black G10 scales. Take the clip off and you have the about the strongests gents folder for pocket carry you can buy.

STR I'd like to get your e-mail Blaeforums seems to not work. Thanks in advance

I carried my Spyderco Military in my khakis today. The key is the very light weight, and long flat profile. I don't really notice it in my pocket unless I need it. My other choice would be my zdp caly jr which weighs even less. My s30v military has seen a lot of action, but the liner lock is stout as ever. The g10 is not really grippy any more, it is worn smooth, so it won't eat your pocket or anything like that. Tip up carry, and a lot of knife sticking out of your pocket are the only disadvantages, but knives are accepted at my workplace, so that's not an issue for me.

Yep. I hate a rounded folder that just rolls around in your pocket all day long. I always look for and try to make my own flatter rather than 'shoe shined' or rounded over like some I see. I just don't like round personally especially on ones with no pocket clip which makes it real bad. This was one of the original appeals to me about Spydercos in the first place.

A spyderco para military or military both are excellent choices as far as strength for weight ratio. Flat ground edges are wonderful for day to day tasks.

Looking for best strength weight ratio.
Can you think of a strong folder that is light enough to ware in slacks? Looking for best strength weight ratio.
.

What other properties are you looking for?
What price range?
How large a blade were you looking to carry?

Without other info, I think you might look at
A. G. Russell™ 2.5 Titanium Lockback Folder

It would be small, but it is light and strong.

How about the Benchmade 707, 710, 940, or 943. All of these knives are light weight (especially the 710 for it's size), and all have incredibly strong locks.

Fast and sure ... built by an old machinist, ad an ounce or two and the Micarta outers for his Tactical Fighter, make it into a very handsome knife that doesn't scare people when you pull it out ... but they know it's not ordinary..very smooth action....fast. Sounds like your cockin a pistol when the blade locks . check him out. all of his stuff is no BS.

710? Anyone, anyone. The 710 is slim, strong. Awesomes steel. The perfect EDC IMO. A good EDC for chores and things but a Supurb ''fighter''/SD blade if the stiuation arose. Or you had to kill a raging dog or something. I worry about that alot because I have to walk my cute little small dogs 4 times a day and all the freaks that live around me have pitbulls. I carry a 710 for EDC. I also cary a Strider SMF tanto in a lifters leather on my right side hip, so that leaves room in my right pocket for my Emerson Super cqc-7. bM 710 in the left pocket cliped. and strider WP tanto IWB on the left front. Thats pretty much my edc. also the biggest Maglight they make to crush sculls if need be while I'm walking the dogs. But for what you guys are talking about I think you need the 710. Thats my go to blade for generally just cutting something, but it can do anything. Super tough, LAZER sharp and holds an edge forever. Fairly easy to sharpen too. I love it.Mine's D2. thats why it fits into my little family so nice:D

My best strength:weight ratio in a relatively large folder is my Spyderco carbon fiber/BG-42 Military.

+1

It's a large knife, but it comes in at a mere 114 grams with clip. Remove the clip and you'll surely shave several grams off the total weight. Flat profile and carbon fiber give the millitary great strength and grip.

YMMV.
