A Vic Pioneer To The Rescue

Done this for 30 years. Stand out under the pecan trees and use my Pioneer to crack pecans for the kids/grandkids. You just put two pecans in your hand next to the Pioneer and squeeze. The indestructible scales along with their unique texture cracks the shell with ease.

One wife deep in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. (Que the dramatic music)
The fate of home organization at the brink of doom. Books laying in stacks. The weekend almost over. Can you believe! Can one man with only a Pioneer and a set of very detailed assembly instruction for book shelf save the world as we know it before the stroke of the next workday?

Way to build suspense, BRM; now there's another movie I want to see, and probably don't have time for. :(:grumpy:;)

Every bookshelf needs good lighting , so you will have to wire it up .
You will need one of these .

And a apprentice to help .
:)

Good advice, Ken. :thumbup::thumbup:

Brilliant, SAK Guy!! I'd have never thought of that use for a Pioneer. Now I have to go find a pecan tree and try it out. :D

Used my Pioneer Electrician today to cut a "belt loop" into a little pocket sheath I made from a section of the wrist strap of an old baseball glove. Also used the awl to drill a hole through a wooden cube I had to turn it into a bead that I could put on a shoelace lanyard for the sheath in case I want to use it that way. Versatility, you know. ;) Oh, and I "softened the edges" of the cube a little bit with the Sheepsfoot blade, too.

Here's a pic of the sheath with Electrician and Case Peanut peeking out.

Thanks, SAK Guy!
This probably isn't the appropriate place for it, but I've seen that you've been picking up some nice stockmen lately, including some Frontiers, I think; congrats - they look great!:thumbup:

Yes thank you! My traditional streak is showing lately...my first knife was a Schrade 8OT Stockman, the second, a Vic Champion. I'm constantly pulled between the two styles.

Love the Pioneer, its been in my pocket every day since it arrived at my house, and was immediately put to work helping to install a bathroom vent in place of an old heater.

Sadly I didn't use the wire bender in this picture, I did however use the driver to swap out the old heater control for a light switch.

I'm a big fan of the Pioneer, been carrying one since 97 as my primary EDC. The
last few years I've paired it with a Spyderco. It works great in that role as a multi tool and people friendly and corrosion proof secondary blade.
The Spydies I rotate daily, but the Pioneer is always there.

I did a little more "sheath maintenance" yesterday, and just for variety, I used my black Pioneer for the first time since I got it in mid-December. Mainly just used the awl to make holes that allowed me to move the leather lanyard so I can put my belt through it and "hang" the sheath vertically in my pocket instead of just letting it "sink to the bottom" in whatever orientation it happens to land. This is another sheath that I "found" when I tore apart an old baseball glove. It's part of the webbing that opened into a cool pouch after I took out some of the original stitches.

Man, I like the looks of this black Pioneer, although from a functional (and sentimental) perspective, I much prefer my Electrician!

Excellent work, 5K! This latest one looks great and should work well in keeping your knife vertical - great idea!

You've got a lot of mileage out of that old baseball glove! :D
