Photos A Walk in Nature

The grounds of Blenheim palace home of Winston Churchill many years ago.

Its massive,I can t walk much nowadays,so on the way to the exit "I got lost" and drove around in my car away from the main house.

Keep it quiet dont tell anyone, thats my blues mobile hiding below the ridge. 😁

Next time I will take cam nets and hide. 🤭

I continued to do additional reading after your post in the GAW thread earlier and learned quite a bit. I am sure it is common knowledge around you, but the 1st Duke of Marlborough's father was named Winston Churchill, and the Winston Churchill of recent history is a further descendant of the line. Then I got sidetracked into the Peerage system and how the modern Peerage system was changed to eliminate inherited titles and so on. Fascinating history. Thanks again for your posts.

Nice close up of your work on that chaga handle Ray

What creature do you think left those prints ?

Thank you Dan - has become one of my favorites.

As for the tracks - what surprised and delighted me today was how in some sections, the animals didn't deviate from the trail I made. They walked along as if they were following my blazes. Was quite fun to get their approval. In that section of the photo it was a jumble of deer and I believe a bobcat under the deer track. The cat track was more apparent by itself early on in the trail. As I got deeper into the woods the deer were dominant and everywhere and which way. Quite a healthy population in there.

What beautiful scenery. That bridge... I don't believe I've ever seen even a photo of a turf-covered bridge surface before. And that's a handsome knife for sure.
Wow, you know what until you mentioned it I hadnt noticed it.

They do have a lot of top groundsmen on this site.

Got me new shoes for kicksledding with some real sharp "fangs" ... just like my Viper 🐍

Good thing I had such great traction with these shoes  as I barely escaped being chased through the wood by an angry sasquatch looking for his next meal

I managed to get out for a walk this morning. I left from my front door, and spent a little over 3 hours ambling through a series of municipal and county parks, and around a local reservoir. Temperatures were still in the upper 20s when I left, but rose rapidly as the morning progressed.

I was by a meadow brook yesterday scouting the next section for a new trail. This one will be looking across at its more developed sister trail system across the tidal marsh. Was a lovely day in the mid-20°F.

Not much snow remaining - for now.

This will be a spectacular diversion on the trail walking around this beautiful and relatively immense juniper field - now mostly buried. Will be resplendent in the summer sun.

Today marks two years since that walk in the forest on Saturday, February 5th 2022 when Diana's fight began... the day we became aware of a lump on her breast. Three weeks later our worst fears were confirmed.
By the grace of God and her strong faith and courage she pulled through and completed a long and very hard treatment.
Today, as we did last year on this day we went to walk those same woods together.

May God bless you both for many more beautiful and snowy outings. Keep your blades and your mind sharp.
