A Week In The Adirondacks

Thanx for taking us along.
The shot of the Adirondack chair, lake and mountain is wonderful.
Good stuff.

Great Pics! That was a trip down memory lane. In the 70's when I was a scout we did a few trips in October, going in to Marcy Dam and then on to Lake Colden. We did Marcy, Algonquin, Mt Colden, and Wright Peak (got some pieces of the B-47 on the summit). I especially liked Avalanche Lake.

Any bear experiences? We had a few marauding bears to deal with, especially at Marcy Dam.

Great pics thanks,

Looked like fun, everyone was well prepared it looks like. Looks like a good group.

Looks like a great trip despite the weather. Thanks for sharing your trip with us all!

Mr. Andrews, what would it cost for the same knife that you took, and what is your turn around time for one?

Like the time we hung the food and forgot to hang the garbage bag, and the bear came in the middle of the night and snatched it? The bag was right next to your feet. Talk about a bunch of scared scouts. A few minutes of fumbling eventually turned up a whistle, which I blew, and it stopped working on the bag and began circling us sniffing. I recall that being at Lake Colden.

Any way, great pics, it has been many years since I have been in that area.

Awesome pictures - what a beautiful place! Thanks for sharing and glad to see you got back safe.

Great pics! I've been to some of those areas too. My dad broke his arm on one trip down mt. Marcy. He toughed it out though, and hiked his own pack out the next day.

Thanks for taking the time to post those great photos. I love hiking along mountain streams, seeing these photos makes me want to go. There's not any real close though.

Wow. Amazing scenery, and great photos.

Not too long ago, I would have commented,

"How much did you spend on film?"

Some really stunning pictures there Brian. Always hard to give a sense of elevation in shots though isn't it? Love some of those mountain backdrops. Oh and the trees, wet and filtered light. Makes for miserable coldness, but the shots and colours looks spectacular. Love to hear more stories about your canoe camping.

See you next weekend!
