Thanks all for the comments.

I would like to take you up on your offer Kevin, but I think that trip is going to be a once a year thing for me. I would like to find out more about your trip though as maybe I could plan on that next year.

I did notice that most folks had large packs.. Did everyone carry change of cloths for the weather???

Yeah, for the most part. Our club is pretty good about that. Especially the clothing. However, there are different levels of "preparedness" when you start talking about first aid kits, provisions for a night out, and knives.

We did have one incident where a lady took a good couple bounces off some rocks (on Cascade). Bumped her head, cut her nose, and got a black eye. Before you could blink, first aid kits were whipped out, and we even happened to have a doctor on that hike :) Incidentally, he is the Lead Instructor for our Wilderness First Aid (WFA) Class. All in all, she was fine.

Any bear experiences? We had a few marauding bears to deal with, especially at Marcy Dam.

Nope. No bear experiences. Bear canisters are now a requirement in the High Peaks region. I wonder if that has helped or hurt the number of encounters. I just know that I didn't get to see any :D

Thank you for posting those amazing pictures. Those trails are a pure joy to hike and tough. Your pictures really do a great job conveying that.

Awesome pictures, they make me long to be in the woods. It looks like Autumn there in the leaves, did you take this trip recently?

Thanks for bringing this thread back to the surface. Those are some amazing trail photos.
