AA LB best fighting knife ever?

It's not a video game or Hollywood silver screen adventure...if you have to pull a knife you are beyond game play. 1% of the time when a firearm is brandished it's used....100% of the time when a knife is pulled it's used. My Opinion is that my Randall was my first mistress in 1968 in the Pearl of the Orient during the first Tet Offensive she never let down and is the Centerpiece to my rather large collection of sharp pointy knives. Your opinion is that nothing will match the AALB opinions vary. Find a Randall and do some testing.

Busto my friend, I will defer to your greater experience and take your word for it. My expertise is 100% theoretical and probably doesnt hold much water in the real world.

Thanks for your service and for sharing your experience and knowledge with the piglets. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

You're Welcome...and it's a privilege for me to be able to add knowledge to this forum when I can.

That knife looks so pretty and lethal but it's also very unfriendly to small female hands. I wanted to get one just for the way the blade looks but I knew that if I got it, my hand/fingers would have a hard time gripping it to any comfortable degree. :(

I've owned the 2007 Special Edition and the SRT version. Both were wicked to look at but sucked in my hand (I have medium sized hands). Finger grooves on the SRT were too wide and my pinky couldn't grip properly and the '07 SE was almost there on the grip, but just not quite right. I felt that the blades were too long and wide to be a good fighter. The knuckles are cool AF but in reality if you needed to throw some punches to put the knuckles to use, that 10" blade hanging on the end of your INFI knuckle guard is going to be dangerous for you as much as them. I like something smaller, sharp on both sides, and something I can get a nice solid grip on. I read somewhere that most people die from being stabbed vs being cut when it comes to knives in fights, and the AAs I had seemed to have too much blade to have any good penetration since it would have a lot more surface area to get caught on clothes and you'd need a lot more force to push it through. However, if someone pulled one of those out on me, I'd soil my panties. Definitely has an intimidation factor to it. Would be perfect for Walkers too. ;) I do like that 10th anniversary one...seems like a smaller, more manageable blade. Give me a Son of AA with a smaller handle pattern (remove the metal separating the fingers so it's a fancy D-guard) and a 5-6" blade with sharpened swedge, no choil and I might reconsider the AA as a fighter. If I had to choose one of my Busse's to fight with, I'd probably have to go with my HG 55. Would love to see TGM or TGLB dagger.

Yep, this... minus having a couple of Terror Monkeys!

No AA is a slouch, that's for sure. :) The TM AA's are badazz also IMO... Just wish my hands fit the handle better...medium palms, long fingers...sold off my AA's except a 2007SE as part of that complete set, & 2 TMAA's because they are wicked. ;)

Wow, who did all the grinding to get it down to that handle form. Very nice!

To me the one blade design that I like that is close to what you describe is the "JACKHAMMER" however it does have a choil and no D-Guard. It's fast in hand with non magnum scales to fit most hands and the CBT will help eliminate blade drag on penetration...:cool::cool:

Gulp...:eek::eek::eek: :thumbsup:

Just scored a gorgeous AALB on the exchange thanks to CR33. I'm so amped for this one!!!

Also high on the SAR 6 that I'm getting with it. :)

You can't back cut with the AA and can't switch grips so no.

Edit: I'm not saying it's bad...but if a big, long, wide blade gets caught or stuck on something, or grabbed relatively easily by an attacker because of its rather comfortable broad smooth shape, and your finger gets broken, or ripped off, that is bad.

An AALB is amazing because you can't be disarmed. goodluck holding onto a non knuckle knife when you get your arm blasted by a log or trench tool. Switching hands is only good under optimal conditions and if you get tackled goodluck holding onto that knife
