AAA flashlight

This is fantastic information. So many great lights I would have never known about.

How can I identify you, so I can visit your tables? I'd like to check out some of the flashlights and firesteels you sell..

I'll have a banner up. If I'm in the same place as last time, look for me in the back right corner of the right building, assuming you enter through the main entrance.

I'll have a crazy nice flashlight display by then. My dad is a professional woodworker and is building me some rolling carts with room for displays on top. They are going to be made out of oak, birch, and bamboo, with slots on top for each light and retractable cords to make sure the lights don't walk off.

+1 on the AA Qurks, just gave out nine for xmas so nest hurricane season all immediate family will have decent bright and long run time lights and we will all be batt compatible.

After reading this thread and others like it, I just ordered two replacements for my fenix E01. I'll try out the Maratac AAA and ITP A3 EOS. Whichever one wins out will go on my keychain, the other will probably go in a bag or glove box. The E01 is a good light but I wanted a little more light for instances where I forget my Surefire.

This thread got me looking at lights again. Thinking about a Quark AA2 Turbo but every time I start researching lights over at candlepower I get completely frustrated with the threads there and the people in them. I mean there just flashlights.

You would think they were talking about something important like knives :D

If you are not too attached to the idea of multiple modes, the Gerber Tempo is a great light for around $10. I keep one on the keys, one in the FAK, and I am looking to get another just to have in the truck.

Its a sweet light. Its almost the same size as the mini maglight. Its lighter than I expected, but very good quality. The moonlight mode is a nice function and its very usable light and bright enough to navigate with. The high setting is much brighter than my surefire G2 light. The light is nice and white. Medium power is perfect for my needs. It seems really high quality and worth the money. I was really inpressed with it and it was money well spent. It would make a great survival light.

what he said. i have the AA2 and CR123 (2) as well, love them both,

AWESOME light for the pice!

For $20 +shipping, I don't think you can beat it.

Amazing they can get 80 lumens out of this thing with one AAA battery. They have really done a good job at CREE of dialing in the usable wavelength and getting the emitter regulated to increase battery time. 50 minutes on high and 50 hours on low makes it a perfect survival light.

Thanks to all for your suggestions.

How's the beam color on the itp AAA? I really like the little Fenix E01 (I have 2 or 3 around here), but I'm not crazy about the purple beam.

They've done a good job of picking LEDs that are very white.

Regarding the Preon, go with aluminum. Unless you are used to titanium, you will not like how the threads grind, which is unfortunately a problem with all titanium lights.

When I was at BPS I stumbled on a Streamlight Nano-Light.It is TINY.It went right on my keychain. It weighs next to nothing.I don't even know it's there. It is NOT a serious tactical light at all,but puts out a good beam, especially for its TINY size.Did I mention how small it is?I think it was about 8 dollars. If you always have your keys with you (as I do) then you will never be without a light.
