Abandoned trail and campsite... very cool.

Neat little area! I love finding old sites like that. BTW your wife is very attractive! and the knives are pretty sweet too.

I'm planning on exploring the whole area better and I'll definitely check out the wall more.

Neat shot.

Thanks. Those were a pain. I set the timer on the camera, but it only goes out to ten seconds, so I had to set it up and run back and sit down. Looks pretty natural though huh? lol

I love finding places like that.
When I was in New England, we used to come across what I'd call ruins a lot. Bit of wall here, chimney there. An old dutch style bridge in the middle of nowhere. Ruins of communes. Good stuff.

She does have a similar sister. Unfortunately her sister is only 13 so you got some time. I'd find someone else in the meantime. ;)

13, well hell I'm 16. :p
Jk bro, just thought I had to comment on that. :D

Really cool find, interesting when you find something frogotten.
How far back was it from the industrial park?

Nice pics, looks like a great time!

A couple things jump out at me... first, neither of you wear rings? How'd you get away with that? :p My wife basically freaks everytime I take mine off (afraid someone will snag up this stud, no doubt. aka - scared my dumbass will lose it). Also, didnt I read you were a cop? I cant believe your department allows you to have gauges in your ears. Even if you take them out while on duty, that just wouldnt fly with the Sheriff around here. Smaller town, I guess, and small-town mentality about stuff.

What a sweet find! I'd be spending quite a bit of time there if I were you!

Not a cop yet. I'm in the hiring process with Alpharetta right now which is the department i want. I have a spot at two others, but Alpharetta is the one I want. So, nope, not a cop yet. About once a month I have an interview or something else so it's been a fun cycle of

shave the facial hair off
take out the earrings
go to the interview
out the earrings back in
grow the goatee and sideburns back
repeat.

It sucks. lol

HELL! I am 15 :p Just joking bro! (but really I am 15 :D;))

Man, I would crap my pants in excitement if I found a place like that! That wall interests me though...

I think you brought enough knives by the way! :p But what can i say, I would EDC a Busse Battle Mistress if I could! :D

I had gauges at one point. I liked them, but not RE-buying them. Every hike I went on there's a earring some where up there. :grumpy: Probably spent 100 bucks on just earrings... better place for that money would be.... KNIVES! :D

EDIT: What guage are those, by the way? Mine were at 0g.

They're 2 gauge. Oh and as for the rings. We're having different ones sized. My parents just recently gave me their first wedding bands and diamonds. Before that, we just had some relatively historyless rings. The family rings are going to be much nicer. Even then, I don't think that we will wear them all the time. She might. I would tear mine to pieces if I wore it all the time.

Have enough knifes for a dayhike? ;)

Seriously though, that's a great find--both the location and the wife.

Good luck on the hiring process. I went through that for months. It's worth it in the end, but it's really frustrating while you're doing it.

Great pics, the wife is very cute. Looks like you brought enough cutlery!

nice tat my friend, "trusted brother" great pics! I dig finding old places like that. I can't wait till I can backpack again. I am nursing this damn fractured hip so I can only check you guys out. hey my pal is here checking out your thread with me. he wants to know if your wife has a very single sister in her 20's. I found it. Checked out Google maps and pinpointed it. Now I'm going to have to check this out. :) I recognized the roadway believe it or not. Only been down that road once or twice past one of my favorite eateries.

Have you also checked out the Big Creek Greenway area? I've only been to the lower part Geocaching a few years ago, but it's a nice setup. Beware if it rains. It is a swamp area and it will flood a bit as there are low areas where it's paved.

You're lucky to have a partner who enjoys the same things you do...

Nope, her sister is only 13, so everyone will have to wait for a little while.

The pink knife is a RAT Cutlery Izula. That particular one is a pre-production sample. They aren't available yet, but will be soon. Check ratcutlery.com or the forum section they have here.

Yes I have been there quite a few times. I've been lucky that every single time I've been there, I've seen some cool wildlife, everything from deer to rabbits. There are a few more areas around here that I've spotted on google maps that I'm going to check out. I'll let you guys know what I find there too.

As for the amount of cutlery, I hadn't yet really tested the machetes since I convexed them, so i wanted to take them out and see how they performed. The multitool, Recon 1, and pink Izula are on me all day every day so they're with me even if I take other knives out with me. All the other stuff, other than the revolver, was taken out there to let the wife test out. Also, one of those machetes is hers and she wanted some practice with it.
