About How Many Times A Day Do you Use Your Emerson?

Everyone has their own opinions of course. When I first saw an Emerson "in person" and in my hand.....I thought it was absolutely THE MOST PLAIN knife I had ever seen.

Rugged looking? Uh...OK...maybe? I guess? Not really. Not me at least. Just about EVERY knife I own IMO "looks" more "rugged" than either of my 7's.

It Is All About Performance. It is all about how that knife feels in my hand. It is about the ease of opening and closing. And those serrations....man oh man. And the utility uses of the tanto tip.....man oh man. All on a Plain Looking Black Handled Linerlock knife. What is not to love about it. Call me lucky but both of my knives were in impeccable condition when I bought them. Ernie can say whatever he wants to say....it's a free country. But if his knives "were all talk".... I wouldn't own one. It is that simple.

I've owned over 27 Emersons. No need to persuade me lol. I was just trying to help the op understand.

Anytime something needs sliced, diced, opened, modified or persuaded to leave me alone.

I use my Emersons a lot at work. I regularly need to break down cardboard boxes, open foam barrels, cut rope, and a multitude of other things as a firefighter. Emersons are tough, rugged tools and treat them as such. However, I thoroughly clean my Emerson as soon as I get off duty. Full disassembly, clean, relube, reassemble. It's not because it needs to happen, I guess it's the Marine in me that won't let me have a dirty weapon/tool.

firefighter... you got my respect.

so does the new supermod ;)

I edc a traditional and an Emerson (and a SAK fieldmaster)... (and there is a CS recon 1 tucked away somewhere in my everyday backpack). Ok, maybe a little much... but apropos of Newerknife's post, sometimes I reach for one, sometimes the other. Depends on what I'm cutting and how many hands I have free. And yes, they can handles some tough work... but they also are a lot of fun.
