Is there any reason I shouldn't go through with the purchase of the three sisters forged beast? I'm asking because there are people on the board who are much more intelligent about blades than I am. Also maybe some opinions from people who have handled/bought this knife would help. Any info or suggestions would help very much. Thanks in advance guys.......mike

If you want it and buying it won't bankrupt you, I don't see why not:thumbup:. However, unless you specifically intend to put it to hard use, the tactical folder might be a better choice as far as cutting ability goes. Plus, I personally don't like the shape of the Beast's blade:thumbdn:.

I intend on using it hard and carrying and using it for all tasks. I don't imagine it could be to to bad at slicing. I have ffg spyderco's for delicate work. Thanks for your input sir.

I'm thinking about one of those to. Looks like a real hard use blade and I've yat to hear a bad word from anybody that owns one. The price is right to.

Yea same here. The price is very right at 300$ shipped for a custom made hard use folder. Blade is as thick as I've seen on a folder. I love the look of the knife.

I personally would pass. I am not into knives that are fat and terrible at slicing. If you carry multiple blades, by all means.

I guess it depends what I'm slicing. I don't see it being bad at slicing rope/wood/zipties/opening boxes/para cord etc. Correct me if I'm wrong by all means I'm no end all expert on cutting. I'd be also carrying a opinel #8 on me as I always carry that thing with other knives because it's like an ounce lol. The opinels are great slicers very thin. Anybody here have a "beast" that isn't satisfied whether it be fit/finish or the knife's performance cutting?

All I know is, my XM-18 mostly sits clipped to my pocket while my Para2 gets all the action. I've noticed that whatever I use my knives for, there isn't much my "hard use" knives can do that my other EDC knives can't. Hell, I'm even contemplating cutting down that papaya tree in my backyard with my Para2, one little cut at a time:D.

Even if the tip on such knives are delicate, I'm not sure there's a reason to deliberately jam such a tip into something thick and sturdy, say wood, unless you're going out of your way to pry with your knife. In which case, go nuts with your hard use knife while I go find a prybar(or a tomahawk).

The sebenza jus isn't "beefy" enough for me lol. I have knives that are of same thickness ie blade thickness I'm saying as that of a sebenza. I want something more heavy duty. My para 2 or mili can Do what a sebenza can but not what this knife can do. Idk thanks for the input guys.

What made you decide against it?Was it the thick blade?

I never heard of them until I seen this thread & I have to admit it's peaked my interest

So you're going to save up for a large Sebenza now? You have a Military as a good semi high end long bladed tactical/slicer...I don't see the Sebenza as a substitute for the Beast...but then in addition to a Beast then that's another story....lol

Yea it's not anything like the beast I know. I'm jus saving up for a high end folder and have never had anything that nice. The beast appears to be a great great knife. But the sebenza 21 is well jus amazing lol. Yea the blade thickness on the beast is what has me worried, may jus be too thick. Plus with how anal about fit and finish I am I think I might as well just get the chris reeve bc I know it will be perfect.

I know it makes no sense because they are polar opposites aside of being titanium frame locks. What can I say I'm a lunatic lol. I just want PERFECTION in fit and finish.

If you're settled on a CRK, why not the umnumzaan if you're looking for something a bit beefier? That'll be my next folder.

I don't care for the looks of the umnumzaan especially the blade. I think I've settled on the large sebenza 21 insingo. The blade shape on the insingo is very good looking to me. I like the idea of a thicker tip even if I have to loose some belly on the blade.

I have a Small 21 and Small Insingo. For what it's worth, though they're wider when you look at the blade from the side, looking down at the spine, the 21's tip is noticeably thicker. Since that dimension is the smaller width, I imagine the 21's tip is stronger than the Insingo's.

I own the TSF Tactcal (not the BEAST) and it's definetly a better deal than a Chris Reeves.
S35VN blade steel with IKBS for about the same price as a small sebenza?
The TSF is perfect in every way you would need a user knife to be. The finish isn't 100% perfect but it's in no way something that could bug you or even be noticed at a quick glance.
I just can't justify purchasing any knife over 200$ using S30V steel.
