About to buy a three sisters forged "beast"?

Is .130 say strider thick? Sorry I'm clueless. The thing I liked about the beast was the stout blade. Idk now. Guess I'll see.

Ok Im on the list with Jim. The reviews are awesome on this this thing. I want a tank and this looks like a tank!
I'll keep you guys posted.
Alpha
PS Jim, thanks for the fast emails. ;)

alpha the new ones he makes are .130 soooo pretty average thickness might want to rethink your purchase. just trying to look out man..

that is the sole reason im straying away from getting on the list for one. (i know i know better slicer bla bla bla before anybody tells me).

Well the guy on the video is wrong. Its a .185 model. Jim has been great at responding to emails. He said he has never done one at the .195. I would be happy with .185. I just shot Jim another email about getting me on the list for a .185
I think he said earlier he would do some in the summer maybe? I dont mind the wait with all the pre orders I have going.

MikeyD, I'm with you .130 is a good slicer but not a Beast. The thick blade is what got me going. I have a lot of slicers. I want the Beast ;)

im right there with you i want something that is an actual beast lol.

I was made an offer today by Jim for a rare BEAST that is .185. It was an honor to get an offer like this. Its awesome and rare! it's not in my budget this month. I asked him to put me on the list for a Standard BEAST at .185. Jim is great at answering emails. I hope one day to add the BEAST to my collection and do a review here on BF.

If you want a folder from Jim get it. I have one he made me a year ago I carry it every day. One fact about Jim is he backs his product. I have used mine when a fixed blade would be preffered. Customer service second to none I took mine apart sent it back in pieces, week later like new. I run a AG flail mower so its gets alot of hard cutting use. Highly recomended I own a sebenza, zt 0302, zt 0200, various spydercos, all fine tools. The Three Sisters gets the most use and abuse.
With respect.

Thanks for sharing your experience. What model do you have? Jim seems like a top notch guy.

To be honest I dont know. I told him what I wanted and he said he had some going to guys overseas and he made me one like those. Great knife great service. Wish I was more computer saavy I would take a pic for you.
With Respect.

That folder was a tactical that had cement dropped into it. I have had them dropped in cement mixers, dropped from a motorcycle at 70. I just got one that was lost for three years in a guy's barn yard. I had one dropped in a cement mixer in Afghanistan, dumped into a blast wall they were building. I got SAT call at 2 AM from Afghanistan. "WHAT DO I DO ??" Anybody got the answer ?

The .185 BEAST will go back on line this summer, just ordered metal. Right now I am buried, have the OKCA show in two weeks.

The issue with .185 is the grind angles and the mass of the blade at lock up is a PIA to get set up. I may enlarge to 4" to get the frame to absorb more of the movements. Lots of engineering goes into these. I am also working on a new outline.

A 4" BEAST at .185!
Jim, Put me on that list! That would be awesome! Be safe in the Air I'll be saying a prayer for you. ;)

Keep us posted.....

I am going to raise the bar quite high. I now have access to a Bridgeport Mill, CAD system and multi head.

Tactical will continue in its present form, now using .120 Ti.

BEAST will go to 4" with a different shape, elongated. Now working on milling the frame with texture and cut outs.

Should be available this summer.
