About to buy a three sisters forged "beast"?

Thank you sir for the info. I thought insingo tip would be thicker but it's good to know the 21's tip is thicker.

The umnum handle doesn't bother me so much it's just the blade shape. My main thing with the knife is the poly bushings on the blade stop idk something about polyurethane bushings scares me idk why. It's looking like it's gonna be the 21 for me fellas. I hope it's a decently tough folder. Any info from you guys is very much appreciated. Large Sebenza 21 owners chime in!! Lol

I just can't justify purchasing any knife over 200$ using S30V steel.
I guess you wrote off about 95% of the folders over $200. I don't think I would be able to tell the difference between S30V and S35VN.

I wouldn't beable to tell either sir. I'm no metallurgist. But either way chris reeve knives well most of there knives use s35v now. New models I'm saying.

The beast will cut and slice just fine. The knife is well made and tough as nails. James is easy to deal with and his skill as a craftsman are top notch. U have to remember these knives are made by one man in what essentially amounts to a small workshop that is in his garage I think. A bit different from the whiz bang techno CBC machine shop that crk has become. 2 totally and completely different knives, sebrnzas are quality no doubt and in my opinion plenty tough but the beAst well the name says it all. It's made for the sand box and the men who play in it.

MikeC do you have experience with one? yea I think I'm goin to jus pull the trigger on the beast. Looks as if it's something i could carry for life and a DO ALL knife lol.

There are some great reviews on youtube. Really gives a good idea on how the knife will perform,
I preferred by Brad Alias to the sebbie. I would jump on the beast as a hard use knife.
Matt.

Interesting exchange, I need to read more often.

The BEAST now has a .130 thick blade. The .185 was miserable to grind and I felt did not cut as well. They started out as a special order for some nasty folk. My work is very different, just me (one hand), an ugly dog and a shop that is 6'x13'. These are not "drawer queens", work em. Each is individually hand made.

100% satisfaction, or send it back.

Any questions, give me a shout.

Can you still get one made in .185?
Thanks,
Chad

Any pics of a new beast? Specifically the blade thickness. Thanks. Or could anybody refer another knife with same blade thickness so I can have an idea of what it looks like.

yep, I might make a few this summer. I have sold 41 BEASTs in .130, 18 to owners of .185. ALL feel the .130 is a better cutter. Draw out the blade in cross section. Once ground there is only 7% more metal with the .185, and the radius is very different.

Can you post a pic of the new .130? Man you have me curious.
Thanks
