Thanks Gary the look I was going for was an edge wrap that spiked up into the blade what I got was more like mushroom clouds but from doing this batch I think on my next attempt it will be more spiky but I do like it and I did learn a lot from it I think I will call it Eruption unless some comes up with a better name.
Richard that is a nice little skinner I look forward to seeing the razor if you get it done.

Thanks Roger it may end up being one of a kind Sanding the hair off them little buggers is a pain in the hand I enjoy making the ones with hair a gooood bit more

^^^ Ya, but the hairless one looks so FANTASTIC! I wonder if sand blasting or tumbling could help speed up the clean-up?

I only have a couple knives for sale(pics later today), but I am bringing a very detailed 50 page power point presentation on the construction techniques I use for frame handled knives.

These spurs/matching Bowie knife, display stand will be headed to San Antonio for the American Bladesmith Society Show held Fri. and Sat. at the Sheraton Gunter Hotel.

This set was inspired by the gear used by Buckaroos of the late 1800's who worked the rances of the Great Basin Region of the American West.

The spurs are handforged from 1 piece of nickel Damascus steel and then hand carved and trimmed with Sterling Silver spots and button covers. The rowels are 2.25 inches, 12 point tool steel with a fire-blued finish. The heel chains are also handmade.

The carved straps have Damascus buckles and 2 inch Damascus conchos with Sterling centers .The Bowie knife has a forged 7.25 inch ladder pattern Damascus blade with a black Curly Koa wood handle, carved Damascus inlays, Sunflower pommel, spacer and a forged to shape S guard with Sterling trim to match the design elements of the spurs. Overall length is 12.38 inches. The sheath is carved leather with Sterling silver throat and tip. This unique, one-of-a-kind collection is displayed on a mesquite stand.
