I got 6+ months of life out of plain ol energizers in my Maglite XL50, before I started carrying a Fenix. Well, and I will do lithum in the L10 as well. About toughness of the L10, as long as sitting on it isn't a problem, I should be fine. Not that I make a habit of sitting on flashlights...
