Accepting New Terminology: The "Tactical Folder"

Lots of good discussion going on here. I find myself using the term "tactical folder" to describe a knife with specific characteristics. Instead of saying; a one hand opening, single bladed, heavy-duty, pocket clipped knife, I say a "tactical" style folding knife. I think those attributes are what many people automatically think when they here tactical folder. I'm comfortable using the term like this.

I don't see why people keep getting upset about this. It's an understood term for most people out there. If you disagree that's fine, but you don't have to go on a rant whenever I post "who makes good custom tacitcal folders." Dispite everyone freaking out I still got lots of good ideas (RJ Martin, Lightfoot, Mosier, etc), so obviously people knew what I ment.

Oh, I definitely agree. It has me shaking my head why people get emotional about a commonly understood description.

Disagree? Fine. Find it silly? No problem. Meaningless to some? Ok. But make them mad?
