Gentlemen of Bladeforum,

Time to unveil the truth. You decide.

Mission:
This post is reply to willic's accusations and to clear one man's name:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ts-to-return-a-fake-Sebenza-(bait-and-switch)

Context:
willic sells sebenza 25 to dsjoo. dsjoo notices more inconsistencies with the knife in question and asks for return since dsjoo does not want to flip it to bladeforum members knowing it may be a counterfit. willic refuses to take return. dsjoo tells him that he will record the experience with bladeforum and paypal. willic immediately accuses dsjoo of being a scammer. But the truth is far from it.

willic accuses dsjoo of bait and switch. I say he would have made a magnificent fictional writer.

Last remarks:
dsjoo has been a forum member at watchuseek [past few years] and ebay user [over 10 years] with 100% feedback. I am wanting to clear the name which is important to a man. Thank you for your time gentlemen.

So you join, with the rverse name of a username just banned, trying to save his name, with your first post? Hmmm... Something sounds fishy

:) :)

Just in case a none CRK person reads the emails and is confused by the scale dates. CRK makes scales in batches and uses them as they see fit. Scale dates have very little to do with the date of birth(date the whole knife is put together).

100% true. Both scales on the same knife can even have different date stamps from one another. They can also have a date stamp that has a much greater difference from the 'born on date' than the knife referenced here.

First of all, stop making a fool of yourself by speaking in the 3rd person, everyone knows whats going on and who YOU are.

What you've read in this thread is true, scales are made in batches and assembled on different dates, that can very well be the birthdate on the card. You could have easily contacted CRK customer service and asked anything you needed to for confirmation.

If you were unhappy with the item, you could have returned it FIRST, the way it works in every corner of the world, and if things were legit then you'd have gotten your money back. You don't seem to understand that concept for some reason. The seller has to protect themselves just as much as the buyer.

While having feedback on eBay and other forums is great, it isn't feedback on Bladeforums which is where this is being hashed out.

Buyer's remorse might be part of what is happening, but then again only you know that for sure.

How about this, dsjoo?

Thank you for the replies. I do appreciate your thoughts and feedbacks.
If you received a knife which you suspected to be a clone [which I have heard many good ones are out there] what would you do? I tried my best to return it to the seller.
If it was buyers remorse, I would flip the knife. But I would never want to circulate a clone especially to forum members.
I am new to this forum and use one user name - dsjoo. [Other user name is associated with RSS reading on tapatalk]

I am not an eagle scout but I do teach martial art; and I know my etiquette. willic [manager of a bowling alley] may have his hooks but I got a meaner chop. I will let you gents updated on the process. Thank you again for your time.

What would I do if I suspected a clone, mix-matched knife parts, or was just plain unsure?

- call the manufacturer and ask
- PM a member who seems familiar with the knife and ask
- start a thread and ask
- if there was damage or the knife is not as described, immediately let the seller know.

What wouldn't I do?

- complain about something I don't know about without doing a bit of meaningful research
- change my story and claim damage only after my initial claims were debunked.

I have been dragged in to this as the original dealer on the knife so I feel it appropriate I respond here. The emails the OP posted do not exactly put him in a positive light. He has done and asked for everything and been given a very simple solution which he refuses to comply with. Then to finish it off the OP stated that Willic is a "Manager of a Bowling Alley" and made what sounds to me like a vague threat with having a "meaner chop".

I will only state that I have had tons of dealings with Willic. I consider him more a friend than a customer. He is honest, fair and does a ton for the knife community. He is also way more than a manager of a bowling alley. I don't feel that it is my place to share Willic's successes, but I will just say there are a lot of them. He is a very integral part of his community and a well respected business man.

My offer to the OP still stands. I will help in any way I can to resolve this, but that offer will end if there is any more threats or discussion about Willic's character or well being! I highly recommend that you edit/delete your most recent post!

I have interacted with willic in the forum, over PM and done a transaction with him. As far as I am concerned, he is 100% good to go! I would buy from or sell to him without any concern. If you don't trust me, look two posts above and read what Whitty wrote again. I am a nobody (as far as this forum goes). Whitty is a major retailer with an impeccable reputation, and he has a high opinion of willic.

I am not sure exactly what the deal is with the OP, but I will never do business with him.

People who manage bowling Allies don't need martial arts, they have an entire posse of beer chugging, wrist brace wearing, nacho eating ass kickers who love tying ninjas up in front of the pins and reinventing the 7/10 split. Where's a booky when you need one?

I wanna preface this with I feel that dsjoo is having buyers remorse. He also needs to understand that willic is not an online retailer. He really has no obligation in my opinion to even entertain the idea of a refund at this point. He's an individual selling a knife. Any preconceived notion otherwise is entitlement. Which our modern day retail shopping has ingrained into us that if you push or scream enough at any "store" you will get your way.

Dsjoo, you bought something. Sell it if you don't like it. Send it to CRK for verification if you are worried then find a course suitable to please you. If you don't want it, send it to me. I'd love to finally have one. But solutions were offered. Accept or move on.

Secondly, and just as important to me personally is a trend I've noticed slowly but progressively getting more and more common here which is the "witch hunting" mentality. A lot more frequently people in general are passing judgment at the drop of a dime before any sort of "investigation" is done. It's like the jury choosing guilty after listening to the prosecution's opening statement.
From reading willic's thread to reading this one with the entire email correspondence is a huge difference. No. I do not think that dsjoo is a scammer. I'm not even entirely sure he should have been banned. What I do think is that he has lied and made excuses to try and get a return. Much like willic lightly manipulated the direction and mood with his week long boy scout story and what a wierd world it is act. People do or say things in situations to benefit themselves.
Willic looks like someone I'd be happy to buy from. Like a genuine stand up guy. But maybe the way he got frightened and then had those flames stoked isn't always the best approach.
What I'm saying that in my opinion and in these situations in particular people need to step back and view the entirety of it all before grabbing the pitchforks. Users and mods alike need to treat both parties with respect and try to remember there are people at the other side of the screen. This place is awesome and everyone is rightfully protective of it. That's a rare and amazing thing online. Let's just not be overly protective to the point of jumping the shark like the fonz. I guess if this post can even get one person to reconsider something in the future I'll be happy. Thanks for listening. You guys are awesome.

P.s. Whitty. Today I learned of your shop. You seem like a genuine cool dude and I'd certainly like to do business with you in the future when I'm looking to purchase something. I've bookmarked you. You've certainly gone above and beyond in this situation. That says a lot.

Copied from the previous Thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1329156-Warning-Buyer-who-wants-to-return-a-fake-Sebenza-%28bait-and-switch%29

It appears this guy is dealing in Sebenzas on other knife related forums! I googled is id and found them! SCARY! He also has very low post counts there!

He filed a PayPal claim and told them he received and empty box! WOW! I send PayPal a copy of all the emails, threads and a USPS receipt showing the box weighed 14 ounces. THIS GUY IS A COMPLETE SCAMMER!!!!! Chris Reeves guys, BEWARE!!!!!!

oojsd (Daniel), Did you file a paypal claim, and if so do you state in the claim that you received a empty box?
