One good thkng came out of this. I learned a whole lot about crk born dates and scales markings. Thanks willic and whitty. Shame it took a mess like this for both of you, for me to learn something.
 
Yes, what an interesting and sad experience! I honestly think Daniel believes he can con anyone and everyone! The real problem happens when PayPal requires him to return the knife and he sends either his famous empty box, or the fake sebenza he described in the email. He might win, after all!

So... I now just want my poor little Sebenza back! She was a great little knife, did everything well, pretty darn sexy and could hold a heck of an edge. I wish she could come home, I'd carry her every day (to the bowling alley I manage - LMFAO)! :( What was I thinking??? She is now in prison with that unscrupulous chap! :( I just need to find a good hard user and keep her forever!

Anyone of us could have taken by this. Scary to say the least. Willic, you did a great job in dealing with this guy and seeing through his BS early. Well done Sir. Please let us know how PayPal sides. If it is not with you, something is seriously wrong. This community thanks you.
 
Not likely ,,, keep an eye out for "NOT-djsoo". He's not the brightest or the most creative.

He is a very integral part of his community and a well respected business man.

My offer to the OP still stands. I will help in any way I can to resolve this, but that offer will end if there is any more threats or discussion about Willic's character or well being! I highly recommend that you edit/delete your most recent post!

There it is, full 100% provenance. As if there wasn't enough before. You have at least three people that know the knife, one being the original dealer, with a dealer's membership here, no less, and one fellow with nothing but praise-and on the other hand you have a guy with seven names, twelve emails, and two BF posts, who then invents more accounts to back up his obviously nefarious scheme. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see who is telling the truth. He may even have "100% feedback"- on the Fleabay account he hasn't burned yet. :p Somebody fill me in how Willic being a business manager has any negative bearing on this ? Obviously he is entrusted with money by other people, I'd say that's a recommendation of good character. OP, give UP. Fail. So much fail.

I hope things work out well for you with the upcoming PayPal claim. I wasn't a scout but I did serve with some in my 21 years on active duty. All but 1 were a great bunch of guys that exemplified the values you'd expect from an Eagle Scout.

Note to self: amend terms of sale from "must be over 18 years of age" to "must be over 18 years of age and not a Ninja".
 
Willic/Whitty, not sure if you guys know this but it may help

CRK makes the scales before they assemble the knives. The birthdate is when the knife was assembled, the date code on the inside of the scale is when the scale was machined.

The date code on the inside scale doesn't always match the birthdate year, because they may be assembling knives in 2015 with scales that were machined in 2014. So I doubt this was a mixup with boxes or anything like that. IMO this ninja guy is just a complete clown.

I've seen this dsjoo in for sale threads before. He like to make a quick post saying I'll take it, then three minutes later edit the post to say "nvm withdrawn." Shady fellow for sure.

I'm sorry this happened to you Willic. We all run that risk when both buying and selling, but we hope that because bladeforums is such an excellent community, the buyers and sellers have some modicum of integrity. You see people selling that say "all sales final" and it just makes me wonder...

PayPal just notified me the case was determined in my favor. The scammer is not nearly as good a scammer as he thinks he is! Maybe he'll stay under his rock and leave all us to do business with honest, hard working blade nuts! I'm sure glade he cleared his name and reputation here on Bladeforums! I sure hope people on other forums and sights are warned about this lowlife!
