Damn, you do have some skills, those are VERY cool

I would like to see one out of Ghost Jade.

I've never been a big fan of "skullies", but I like yours, especially because you decided to create something original, rather than paying Starlingear's sky-high prices. I'm all for quality, but nobody will ever get me to believe that their markup is less than 105%.

I like the Meathead, too.

Thanks for the compliment. :D

Just finished looking at the EDC forums link.

The Willydigger is the best one. Hands down.

Some suggestions

1) Skulls from other animals. I imagine "raven", "shark", and "wolf" would be popular

2) They don't even have to be skulls. A highly stylized wolf's head, although just about any predatory animal would have a following.

3) Remember the Guns N Roses skull from Appetite For Destruction? I don't know about intellectual property laws, but it would be a cool throwback.

4) A Voldemort skullie

5) And Darth Vader

6) Sauron, although there may not be much crossover between these two cultures.

7) Cthulu, for those of you who know what I'm talking about. A complicated job, though, what with all the tentacles.

That's all for now. I'll post if I think of more.

Yeah, I thought of more.

There is a Darth Vader skullie.

Some suggestions for other materials to expand the "wabi-sabi" line.

1) Carbon fiber (of course)

2) When you're ready, some made out of that nitrogen-based steel, so that they never, ever, rust.

3) Also, some made out of tool steel so that they do rust, or, "patina", if you prefer.

I also thought some cyborg wabi-sabis would be neat, with robotic eyes and an assortment of tubes and hoses, maybe some metal teeth.

One that I would like to see is a fully robotic head, built in a more 19th century style, so that the parts look riveted together, bolts are exposed, and there are fittings, valves, and other essential machine bits. For the extra special touch, it should look like it has had a refit or two, with clearly add-on parts, and a nice layer of "use rust".

JACK SKELLINGTON!!!

And a Green Man wabi-sabi. For the proper touch, use Ash wood.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep them in mind for future projects.

In the meantime here are a couple completed tritium beads. Ghost Opal with Green and Brass with Orange. Both use 1.5x5.5mm tritium vials.

Here is an exposed pic (meaning the tritium glow is highlighted). This is similar to what it will look like with dark adjusted eyes. Notice the entire opal bead glows due to the semi-transparent acrylic. The brass trit slot also reflects the orange glow. Both turned out awesome. They use Norland 61 optical adhesive so it is crystal clear.

Here are some exposed pics in a less dark environment to show the beads.

Nice work! I have a couple of ebony scraps, they are about 2.5" x 1"x 1.25", if you are interested in a couple of pieces, send me a PM. The ebony is all black, no streaks and has a very fine grain pattern.

When you made the scales for the SAKs, how did you attach the scales? I'm thinking of gluing some ebony scrap together so I can make some SAK scales.

You even think of selling these? Im interested in that m3 stuff

I don't have a gold membership so I'm not allowed to sell. You can email me about trade options. willydiggerATgmailDOTcom.:D

@ SOC_MRN_Leon

willydigger is well aware of the fact that he can't sell or do any business here at his current membership level. Please don't invite or tempt him to break the rules. :)

@ willydigger

Great stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you can do. If you ever do decide to upgrade your membership to sell here, I think you'd do very well. Thanks for posting your work.

You're very convincing Morrow. I just bought a membership. I guess there is a delay for my Gold status. Once it comes up I'll do up a sales thread. That's to everyone for the kind words.

Actually you're Gold..you just need to update your user group settings. I should have talked to you before upgraded your account. To sell items your making yourself, you'll need to knifemaker/craftman/service provider membership. I'll send you a PM with the details.

What can I do to cancel the Gold and purchase the Craftsman? That's a pretty steep price hike considering I'm not really a knife maker.

EDIT: I think I figured it out.

So do you carve these with knives or a dremel or some other method I'm not thinking of? I would like to give some wooden ones a shot when I get back to the States and my dremel if it is needed, if they are hand carved I may have to go look for some wood. :)
