Oh... then you were down on the sunny, warm end of Greenland.:D I spent some time at Thule.:D

USAF, 22 years.

Army EOD (89D). 5 years active, and now working on 2 in the NY Guard. Getting ready to leave for my second deployment.

deepfry= Army cook:D

As for myself as name implies am in the Guard , Army version and serving the state of New York currently. Mos's held are 13B, 15T, and 15U. Coming up on re-enlistment in February and would like to make a switch to a 68W slot and get that MOS. Though Aviation is rather nice MOS to be in when your on deployment.

BTW: If you don't mind I'd like the recipe for fried cabbage, actually miss the stuff and was discussing it last night.

Heh I actually don't recall ever making fried cabbage, sorry :(
The guys from my old section should be coming back from block leave in the next week or two and I can try to have them email me the recipe card though.

Yeesiree. We were so far south that the Danes had a southern drawl. Ya' All. :D Sondy is only about 50 miles inside the arctic circle. Beat the hell out of Pleiku though. I have a friend who was there in Feb. 1965.

BTW, that hill is called Black Ridge. The ground to air radio site was up there. That's where I worked.

Here's me in the summertime. It must have been around 55 or 60 degrees and sunny. A scorcher.

Notice anything?

My most interesting and memorable post was Moscow, USSR.

U.S. Navy, fours years active duty, 1985-89, USS Nimitz. Aviation Boatswain's Mate, Launch & Recovery tech. Great memories, a few injuries, made some lifelong friends along the way. My nickname was 'orca', hence my screen name.

US Army from 64-67, in Germany as a medic. 1st of the 15th Infantry, Audie Murphy's unit in WWII. They actually would march us all down to the base theater on "Unit Day" once a year to see a free screening of "To Hell and Back."

Worked variously as a platoon medic, a physicals clerk, and an ambulance (M113) commander.
