active and former military

After looking through alot of posts it seems like a fairly high percentage of members here are or have been in the military, myself included. I thought it might be interesting to see just how many there actually are. So, if you are active, former, retired, guard or reserve please post :)

If you want, tell us what you do/did, units you were in, whatever. You might even find out someone else here was in your same unit. I'll start

Former - I just ETS'd (actually still on terminal leave) from the Army. I was a cook in the 25th ID, Schofield Barracks.
5 years active duty, two deployemts.

US Navy for 4 years as an Aviation Machinists Mate = jet engine mechanic. Worked on A-7E Corsair II aircraft. Deployed 9 months on USS America and 9 months on USS Ranger. The best part was I got to start up the planes and run the engines, and other systems so they could be checked.

By the way... A BIG thanks from me to all of you for the service you've provided me (us). I (we) only live as free as we do because of your hard work and selfless dedication.

Just needed to say it....
