This will be my last thread, as it has gotten to a point where I feel my presents on this customs and handmades forum is no longer productive or of benefit to me or any participants here. I would like to thank those of you who welcomed me and have offered support and gratitude for any productive and positive influence I may have had on this forum in general or in my endeavor to promote and help new collectors, makers and the custom knife community. I would also like to thank those of you who read and participated via the many thousands of views and replies in my 121 threads in the 18 months I have participated here. I would like to thank everyone for all the knowledge I have gained from you. I would most like to offer a very special thanks to those of you who have offered your friendship, as I have made many friends here and not communicating with you on daily basics will no doubt be the most difficult part of leaving here.
I would also like to thank Burt Foster, Dan Farr, Jerry Fisk, Russ Andrews, Jim Cooper and Chuck Ward, for their abundance of help on the Blade Forum Benefit Bowie Project as it was one of the most gratifying experiences of my life. By this thread I will officially turn over the management of any future dealing of/with this project to Roger Pinnock and Stephen Foster. I will send copies of the final accounting and reconciliation of all monies, contributions, ticket purchases and expense to Jim Cooper, Roger Pinnock, Steven Foster, Russ Andrews, Burt Foster, Dan Farr, Chuck Ward, Jerry Fisk and Don Hanson. I will pay up the website fees through the end of May.
I hope the BF members will continue with this worthwhile endeavor as I feel we only scratched the surface with our donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation considering our conservative approach towards promoting and soliciting contributions and tickets sales in that it was our first year.
I would also like to apologize to anyone I may have offended here, anyone who feels I have wasted their time or those few who feel threatened that I have encroached on what seems at times to be their personnel domain here.
Though not at all my reason for leaving, I do feel I will be better able to serve the CKCA in its infancy for several reasons. And contrary to my opening statement, I will start one more thread only to share information on the CKCA as I feel many of you were instrumental in solidifying its need/value and identifying its mission, goals and anticipated future accomplishments. I would like to invite you to seriously consider the organization for membership and also invite you to attend our seminar at the Blade Show to get additional information. I would also like to add that Im a single member of the 21 member project start-up team and advisory council set up to get the association off the ground so those of you who may not agree with my views and/or opinions shared on this forum can rest assured that these same views/opinions are not necessarily indicative of views/opinions of the CKCA.
Again, thank you my friends and please do not hesitate to contact me @ kj1056@aol.com so please stay in touch and let me know if theres anything I can help you with.
