:( Very sad...but I can also understand the reasoning....you're always welcome over in the maker's gallery where not much of the stuff thats been occuring happens... (yet...) Be warned, though, we like to pat each other on the back, so theres not much fighting to be had :)
 
Kevin - Your posts (and Coop's too) are probably right at 90% of the reason I have stayed this long with Bladeforums. I've always seen you as one of the gentlemen around here, trying not to get personal with comments, even when faced with them.

Certain members' comments in threads over the last week or so (they've actually gotten worse) had caused me to think about quitting Bladeforums, but I considered your contribution here much to valuable to miss. I guess it's time to assess just what I will get out of that remaining "10% of value" - not much, probably. Maybe a quick read once a week. Maybe just get the flock outta here.

In any case, I understand why you are doing this, and if you happen to come back, please let me know! This is a setback for Bladeforums and many members who took home good information from your threads.

Hi Kevin, I also don't think you should go. We all have different personalities and views that will sometimes clash. No big deal. Hope you decide to stick around.
 
I know we don't know each other well but I have read several of your posts and you sent me an email earlier this week trying to provide a little insight into something I had asked about. I hope you don't leave but if you do thank you for your willingness to help us newbies.

You can say Nice Knife in a Knifemaker for sale thread, but No Chatting is the rule for individual sales. I have to look at where the sale thread is located before I comment, because I have made that error myself and the got the same reminder. Sparks house, Sparks Rules.

I spend a lot of time lurking in this forum so that I can be a better maker. You have posted some of the most thought provoking threads I've seen. Whether you go or stay, know that I personally have grown through your posts and I appreciate that. Best wishes, wherever you may be.

This is very sad to me. Keven and Steven provided posts that caused me to think quite a bit.

I am very sorry things have evolved to this point not sure why.
 
As a "tech newbie", I always found Kevin's posts to be very educational and easy to understand. Most didn't relate to my areas of interest, but I always knew they would be worth reading. Yes, I too will miss them.

I think the highest compliment that has been paid to him here is -- not one of the traditional "don't let the door hit you on your way out" posts has appeared in response to his announcement. :thumbup:

(Having said that, I'm still of the school that feels if you're going to leave, just leave. :) )

My prediction: he will be back. Because he won't be able to stay away. ;)
