Adios from Primos Knives

Terry, too bad you've got to close shop for a while. Hopefully you'll keep it up on the side and turn out some work at your own pace. You mentioned you aren't good or fast enough to hack it, but the truth of the matter is that you've also come a long way. Your first attempt at "blacksmith" texturing a blade and a more recent rendition I came across on the forums here a while back really stand out in my mind to illustrate this point. I tried a quick search for the images but no luck. And when it comes to using wood not many can pick them like you do, I'd swear you got one block off the burning bush itself...:D Good luck in the future!

Terry, you may not remember me. I am Barry. Fair Park, Kilgore College, Caddo Career Center printing class, jog your memory?

I registered for BladeForums.com just to send you this message!

Wow, it was just over a year ago that I shut down my business and made this announcement.

I'm ashamed to say that my memory is not what it used to be. I must say I'm honored that you would remember me from Fair Park, Caddo Career Center, and Kilgore College. Good Lord, that's 35 years ago.

My current email address is tprimos@comcast.net

When I saw that Terry had posted I was hoping that it was because he had decided to start making knives again. No such luck.:(

Terry,
Just wanted to say, add my voice to those who have already spoken. I just stumbled on this thread and didn't know, a year already..

You are a man of talent. I have always been impressed since I first saw your knives. Some beautiful examples that were offered on websites and posted in pictures. Knives that let the materials show the beauty and often having a rustic appeal. I hope things will work out for you. Letting your talent go is a waste and a shame. I wish I could pound out something that would look half as good, honestly. Best of luck to you. Life is a crazy business.

I still have faith that Terry WILL get back out in the shop and make some knives.

I sure hope so. I'm STILL trying to find a Platypus! :o

Terry,
Seeing that you saw and replied in this thread within one day of someone reviving it only tells me that your interest in knives still runs quite deep. That in and of itself is a great blessing. I will, however, admit that I too saw this and hoped it was something about your starting to make knives again. I hope you don't blame me for wishful thinking. After all, you made some very nice pieces at very reasonable prices.
