Advertising knives and Commemorative knives

Smiling and Clutchcarter, you each seem to have a tip bolster/pearly scale "radio knife" with spear and caplifter, bearing Lindley Electric and Newton something or other. Are those both Camillus or Camco?

Those look like my first knife, an International Paper Co. Bastrop Mill something or other (safety award maybe). Same blade configuration, but I can't recall the manufacturer.

Hi MarkPinTX. The Lindley Electric knife was made by Camillus. The stamp with the short line under Camillus looks like the 1946-50 mark in Goins' book.

Thanks! I am pretty sure I would remember if it was a Camillus. I imagine they made some under the Camco moniker as well. Great little knives.

Here's an older one. The company manufactured paint and varnish.

Here's my favorite little advertiser a little self promotion is a good thing sometimes. ;)

Mini Camillus Funny/Flip Folder in Celluloid: it says, "CAMILLUS HAS THE EDGE" you can see how tiny it is.

Here's another one, a Schrade Walden Wurlitzer ring opener in NS, I've posted this before, it was a great auction deal for about a Jackson.

I'd have to say after all these years if someone asked me what I first started collecting I finally realized what it was, advertising knives. I used to have a bunch of the Colonial Trick knives and I'd say about 90% of them were advertisers.

Here's a fist full of trick knives:

Great advertising knives everyone. I like the World's Fair knife Leghog. This knife is from the 1904 St Louis World's Fair.

Sorry I'm so slow responding MarkPinTx. I just noticed your question. Mine is a Lipic made by Camillus.

Recently received this one from Mr Charlie :)
