But get him whatever. If he doesnt like it there's 10,000 guys here who will be waiting for you with roses.

And 20,000+ active members here on BF waiting to pounce on that discounted Sebenza when (IF) ya'll ever do break up... :p

I appreciate all the replies, really. So basically I’m between a “Plain Jane” 21 or a Micarta... one thing that’s confusing me.
Y’all are all talking about buying from a reputable dealer?
So meaning...Bladehq? Chris Reeve website?

Yes, BladeHq is a reputable dealer, there are a lot of fakes out there, so you want to buy from a CR dealer.

Also when I go to pick the “style” there are like 6 options with Micarta... which one are y’all all talking about? If I went with the plain one, I’m guessing I’d just pick “plain drop point” ?

I know these are silly questions. Thanks for the replies!

There might be a wait ordering direct from CRK. BladeHQ was a good option. They should have some plain drop point models in stock.

Bladehq is fine and if they have what you are looking for in stock you needn't work any harder. On The Chris Reeve website at the bottom of the opening page under shop is find a dealer with the list of their dealers. If you pick one that is also a Blade Forum dealer, they will put in every effort to make you satisfied-They pay to be here and certainly don't want bad press. We're really warning you about buying from someone like Ebay (or even Amazon)if you don't have the knowledge to identify a fake from the real deal. If the deal sounds too good to be true, it likely is.
You can order direct from CRK, but there likely will be a substantial wait. They are back ordered. I only buy direct when it is a pre-order, customized order or I just can't find it at any dealer-none should apply to you.
As for the knife-Lg. Sebenza, micarta, drop point(unless you know he would prefer a different blade style), stonewashed blade, silver hardware(Believe some may offer blue, but it wears to silver eventually anyway-not a big deal ). single or double lug is a tough one-they can add the double latter, but the cost to do the work($35) + shipping both ways. If offered from the dealer I would buy the double. If they don't have it don't worry. and of course right handed for right handed and lefty for lefty-harder to find
If you go plain scale-they usually come with blue hardware , but certain dealers will have silver-your choice.
