advice on a new gun.

For a bit extra money the Equinox model comes fitted with a great fibre optic front sight and nite rear sight ... worth it if they help on the eyesight aspect ... I like the looks on this version too

Here is a link to a nice custom one fitted with a compensator .... http://www.tjscustomgunworks.com/Photos4/SigP220EquinoxComp.htm

Yeah, I can vouch for the P220 Equinox being a great shooter.

I love the front fiber night sight, it is VERY visible in any lighting scenario, but especially easy to pick up in daylight, very useful if/when your winters are long, dark & cloudy like in this shot.

Night sights look about like any other in the dark and work very well with the front one being much brighter than you see here though it is hard for me to capture on camera. :o

You get a German frame with it which works great and will support a light/laser if desired, very handy for a home defense gun in low light.

The grip has one of the nicest feeling ones out of all the of the Sigs I have held and it's easy to thigh carry in colder weather.

Plus, it matches very nicely with a Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle which makes for a very effective combo day after day in the woods. :D

I picked mine up lightly used for around 8 bills and am extremely happy with it, though I wouldn't pay the msrp for it, but then I try not to do that on anything so that isn't saying anything about the gun.

i think i sould also ask about the P250. i think its the 250 the ploymer frame one. any way for the price its hard to say no i might have to get one for myself too. anybody hear anything bad about these??

Do not get a first generation one, they had problems. I know I had one. From everything I have seen the second generation ones are great. Get ahold of me if you need to know how to tell the difference in generations, or Google it.

Tim, The Ohio State Highway Patrol SRT Team has those sights and they apparently are falling off. They were advied they were a 2000 round sight. YMMV but I won't have one on my guns now, too bad becasue they do look good.

Good to know and thanks for the heads up. I will get a different style replacement ordered to keep ready in my spare parts in case either of the two I have start becoming a problem.

nice rig brother.

I love that scout rifle

Been watching this thread for my own edification, as I have nothing to offer; but also with some amusement.

Is there ANY brand of pistol that hasn't been mentioned here so far? ;)
