Advice

I want to order an M43 any advice on the process? Thanks in advance for your time and patience.

Just wait until one shows up here on the forum, you'll get to see it, and get the OAL and weight on it before you buy it. You may even see something else that you'd like, and for nothing else, just hang around a bit with us all. Just watch out for that Bawanna guy...:)

I've purchased one M43,...full price! But the next one on the forum, I'm gonna snag!!

Genuine snake in the long grass that bawanna guy.

You can also just email Yangdu. Her email is at the bottom of everyone of her post. Tell her what you have in mind, see what she has on hand.

I think she's well stocked at the moment. Or you can call.

Tell her the snake sent ya.

The M43 is a great choice. Very hefty workhorse and has never failed me. It even gets thrown to stick in wooden backstops. Mine gets used quite a bit and can tackle a 10" tree or limb very handily. Not something you want to do all the time, but it will take care of bigger stuff, too, to include toe nails, Griz bears, and them Bawannas.

I have a WWII model, and if I remember correctly, the M43 is basically a heavier and stronger version of the WWII. The WWII is pretty good, so I expect the M43 is also a good choice for a heavy chopper.

Sure you can tackle a Griz Bear, but a Bawanna? I'd rather play dead. :p

I just did a comparison of a WWII and a M43. Very close to being the same in thickness. For the most part my WWII's are thicker(depends on the kami). The extra strength lies in the M43 having a full tang. I really don't have a favorite because I love ALL of H. I. Kukris!
Depends on the application. Best thing is to buy one of each then decide!
Buy once, cry a bunch!!!
It's addicting!

I have never had a kukri before, it will stay on my truck with me as I goto the port of Oakland weekly.

If your thinking pure self defense (a khukri would not be my first choice, but your are in California so limited options). That being said I'd go light if that is your intended purpose. A sirupati, or a Kobra or a Foxy Folly. The Folly would probably be my first choice, plenty of strength, lots of mass but still light. PLus they are about the coolest looking Khukri ever made.

I agree!

I guess I was merely giving opinion about a comparison between M43 (since that was the original topic) and WWII, since the comparison was brought up! You guys have a greater knowledge of me since I'm relatively new to the Khukri family! I really appreciate all of you guys advice but am trying to push sales also!
Ms Yangdu has been so kind to me!
Y'all's advice, I devour it!
When I said buy once cry a bunch, i.e. Buy one of each!
Preppers philosophy is
"1 is none and 2 is 1"!
That's my advice!
Thanks Bawanna for your advice!

I've been known to just the track deviating different directions than the original topic.
I guess it's a curse I've had all me life.
Now what was the original topic?
Yangdu is kind to everybody, seriously. We need to clone her about a billion times and distribute the clones all over the country.
The world would be a much better place.

I live in Nebraska but I drive to Oakland weekly. How do you wash the shawls? My wife loves them!

My wife says many of them shawls are silk. So you need to hand wash with mild laundry soap and air dry.
Actually if your lucky you have your wife hand wash them and air dry.
If you do it close the drapes, maybe do it at night. Don't want to appear unmanly.

Can you link me to an image of the Foxy Folly? I'm not familiar with that one.
