Just wait until one shows up here on the forum, you'll get to see it, and get the OAL and weight on it before you buy it. You may even see something else that you'd like, and for nothing else, just hang around a bit with us all. Just watch out for that Bawanna guy...![]()
The M43 is a great choice. Very hefty workhorse and has never failed me. It even gets thrown to stick in wooden backstops. Mine gets used quite a bit and can tackle a 10" tree or limb very handily. Not something you want to do all the time, but it will take care of bigger stuff, too, to include toe nails, Griz bears, and them Bawannas.
I have never had a kukri before, it will stay on my truck with me as I goto the port of Oakland weekly.
I agree! If your thinking pure self defense (a khukri would not be my first choice, but your are in California so limited options). That being said I'd go light if that is your intended purpose. A sirupati, or a Kobra or a Foxy Folly. The Folly would probably be my first choice, plenty of strength, lots of mass but still light. PLus they are about the coolest looking Khukri ever made.

I live in Nebraska but I drive to Oakland weekly. How do you wash the shawls? My wife loves them!If your thinking pure self defense (a khukri would not be my first choice, but your are in California so limited options).
