Advocate update?

I got one from BHQ this week and it’s the new design. I had requested that specifically after confirming they had it. So make sure you let them know.
BTW action is nice although I have no way in comparing it to the old pivot. My only gripe is that the look bar is sharp and shreds your thumb. Took it apart and filed it down a bit. That already helped a lot. While doing that I felt guilty of violating Sal’s “don’t mess with your knife” reminder kicking around the forum lately. To that respect, even though Spyderco’s quality is great, they are not and cannot be customs either. If you know what you are doing they can be improved. Just don’t send it back as LNIB, kind of common sense. My 2 cents.

Well thats pretty frustrating. I called them on friday before I ordered and the guy on the phone said that they can't tell if its the updated version because all there knives ship from a warehouse in virginia so they can't actually look before it ships. I put it the notes while ordering online saying i want the new one and what they can check for and everything. Now have to return it and wait longer or just order another requesting the updated version again and hope for the new one.

Anyone know what dealers might have the new ones? I just bought one from BHQ and requested the new revised version. it came in today and its the old design. The marking on the box for the date are LP so Dec. 2016. looks like this one is going back to BHQ.

I am actually out of stock on the Advocate, currently. I will be getting more and when I do, it will be the updated version. Unfortunately, I do not have time frame, but I am hoping to place an order with Spyderco today or tomorrow.

yea I got the same Email back this morning too. I’ll have to check back with him in week or so
