AEB-L at 57-59 HRC

Vanax would be very interesting to try in a kitchen knife. It has most qualities that should make it good in that role. I tried cronidur 30 at 60 HRC and it was very good, I would want it harder though. Vanax should be even better.

I have a vanax kitchen knife (also used for game processing) from Shannon Steel Labs. It is 0.080" stock, full height convex. It's brilliant. Easy to field sharpen, cuts forever, sharpest knife I own.

EDIT to stay a bit on topic

A hunting knife and fillet knife in AEB-L from Brush Creek Knives. Both at around 61-62 HRC by Peters. Both may come into contact with bone otherwise I would prefer vanax.

The LT Wright GNS in 3/32 AEB-L (saber or convex) is pretty close. A Genesis with that steel in flat but with a GNS-style handle would also be good. I don't know if I'd like the broomstick style handle.
I wish LTW would change their Heat treatment, they only take AEB-L to 57-59 HRC. This has kept me from purchasing their knives.
