AFCK/TSEK - Let's See 'Em & Talk About 'Em

I agree, tons of beauties to look at in this thread. That cf/burl does look amazing, as well as Keymans snakeskin/dragons eye knives. What exactly do you call that pattern on the white and gold ones Keyman?
Thanks for the kudos Corey.
The gold one they call Golden Dragon and the white one they call Ivory Snake.

I got my clips from Benchmade today and put a Parkerized split arrow on my AFCK. The light was low at the end of a dull, rainy day on the job when I shot this pic of my guy with his new buckle.

One of the better posts in recent times. Not a big surprise how many of us own variations of these AFCK/TSEK models, 'cuz they are great knives!

I have a small old lock back FRN type handle one. I'll try to take a pic tomorrow. I keep it as a small back up blade in my hunting pack.

First gen 800 was my original tactical knife. I've picked up a couple more over the years but still EDC it more than anything else I have. Thanks for the great pix everyone-
truly a treat to see them all!

Love that M2HSS steel AFCK! That one has eluded me for years. Hopefully one day I'll be lucky enough to pick one up.

I'm in agreement with everyone, it's time for BM to release another AFCK!

I have only been a knife Knut for a little over a year. The first 'real' knife purchased was a 940 in July '15.
BM is my favorite company and I have more or less focused on the newer models.......then I got lucky and found a 705 with OD green handles with G10 inlays. Now I am freaking out over the older models......and the ones in this thread are the sweetest of the older models!!!
This is the only one I was able to find and the owner was cool enough to work out a trade!!
Doesn't look like much, but let me tell you it has one of the smoothest actions I have felt!!
The addiction gets MUCH worse I see!!!
Ugh

Same here. My original AFCK is one of the smoothest folders I've ever owned. I can still say that having owned it nearly 20 years or so. What a fantastic knife on so many levels.

The AFCK is one they really got right!

Well Joseph, only a year? You work fast! I was the same; this marks 10 years of nothing but Benchmades for me. The knife above is a beauty, and I also have begun to seek out users like that one.

I'm right there with ya Joe, I bought my first real knives last March and I was instantly hooked. I got my hands on an AFCK not long after that and ended up with about 15 different ones :D Hopefully you have a little better self control than I do, otherwise your wallet's gonna be hurting.

Nice one, Joe. Looks like an old 800--tip down carry, I assume. The good thing about buying a user like that is that it can go right in your pocket and head off to work or whatever. Don't have to worry about scratching it up or the wear on a coated blade. I have a hard time with my like-new black-bladed knives, 'cause I hate having the blades looking beat up. I've got a large Grip, partially serrated with green canvas Micarta scales that goes to work sometimes and don't worry about bangin' that one up and my WC Hogue came with some scratches and wear and that one will be a user. Lots of the others will probably stay pretty, though.

Anyway, at least one wing of my "House of Addiction" is slowly being populated with old-school models. The AFCK and TSEK really check a lot of boxes for me and there's a classic, utilitarian beauty and pragmatic, no-nonsense design aesthetic to those older Benchmades. No bling, no custom scales, "regular" good steels. Just damn good, useful knives.

Hard to find those older AFCKs without serrations. I almost pulled the trigger on a couple, but am trying to hold out for a plain edged one. Nice grab, my man. Enjoy it, brother!

Edit: ... and yeah, you're right, the action on those models is just stupidly good....

The original 800 AFCK's are fantastic knives that have stood the test of time. Even some 20 years later they rate highly by any standard. I really hope a new release is in the works sometime soon!

That's a nice one, pbcg. I was really pleased to be able to pick up my 806 BT recently. I'm still searching for an 800 plain edge, but most of the few I find available are partially serrated. Anyone with too many or one to move, please to don't hesitate to get in touch.

The last limited edition run of AFCKs was the -1101s, I believe, and there weren't that many made. As far as I'm concerned, a new run wouldn't have to be M390 or have blue/black handles or have any bling. In fact, I'd just prefer plain-old-plain-old just like they used to make 'em. Probably no chance of that, though, nor little of any re-release at all.
