Affordable slicey hollow grinds?

I'd rather send it to you. You're what, 30 minutes from me? I just found out my dad has a rotary tool (milwaukee) and was thinking of trying it myself, though neither of us has ever used it or any other type.

Honestly, I don’t like working on other peoples knives. I’m just saying it’s a pretty easy modification. These days we are closer to downtown now.

Beautiful ! Damn, didn’t know the manix came in a hollow grindi Im
There are two actually: the 4V one, and many years ago they made one in 154cm.

There is this one, too. I LOVE that knife.

That’s a beauty. I had so many nice spydies i wish i never sold back in the day. It seemed like they used to make more hollow grinds in general. Flat and full flat kinda took over.
I had a cento 3 wharnie, viele, mini persian. Probably others i can’t remember now!

I feel this way in general about some of the knives I've sold, as well as discontinued models I never bought. I wish I would have bought a Spyderco GB air. Impossible to find now for the most part.

Tonight, if I have the energy after PT, and can find the tool, I'm going to attempt the mod on my GB. I will probably mess it up, but its an old well used knife, so I'm not super concerned.

There dont seem to be too many modern knives using them (which is a shame), though there are more than I expected in this thread. But my favorite hollow ground knives are probably Case sodbuster jrs and the Buck 110 (and other Bucks). You can't beat a classic!

Sanrenmu 6040. Seriously tiny, but awesome hollow grind and CHEAP!

And yes, buy the GB2 already :)

Affordable is very subjective. I agree though, the GB is a great knife. However, I'm not a fan of the lockbar on mine. Need to have someone make a cutout for me. I too have an Exarch and like it, carrying it today.

Just to make y'all hungry:

Another hollow grind knife, though maybe out of your price range is the A Purvis Progeny:

Here's mine:

gotta throw a like in your direction for posting a knife next to a ramen package as if you needed to cut it

Douk-Douks are cheap, and have wicked thin hollow grinds.

The esteemed Mr. Yojimbo is deadly to pre-packaged foods!

Civivi's badlands vagabond and Ortis are the same blade with either a clip point spine or a drop point spine, studs or slot, and they're awesome. The carbon fiber version have legit milled carbon fiber instead of slabs or stickers
Seems like civivi is one of the big ones with hollow grinds, i gotta pick up more of their stuff.

I've only got the Badlands Vagabond and Ortis, originally I wanted the Ortis, found the CF Vagabond in stock, turns out it's pretty perfect, so I got the Ortis too later on. I tell myself I have enough knives in Civivi's range that these two examples are enough and I do not need a Pintail or a Riffle or a wood-scaled Odium for good measure.

I also really like some of the older Kizer models with hollow grinds, the Activ Bantam especially surprised me by just being a perfect midsize knife despite the cocktab (it's rooster themed), and so did the 3" Flashbang. I have newer conical pivot builds of both and they're not easy to find anymore but if you see one for a good price they're extremely good. Smooth and slicey.
