At post #179 at least 262 are spoken for. If a quantity wasn’t given I only accounted for one knife. So the actual may be higher.

Disclaimer: I was watching my chickens running around the yard while counting and am ADD so this number could be off by a lot.

I think it was the K20 preorder where we both wound up around 40. To be twice as far down... props to CPKs continued expansion.

It looks like both the ghetto satin and regular satin are available in the preorder. The full satin is a “super clean 220 grit” finish per Nathan’s post in the DEK preorder thread while the ghetto I believe is just up to 40 grit. As far as I’ve seen the ghetto grind has mostly just been offered on a couple versions of the BFK, I believe all the DEKs are the “full” satin.

I think the ghetto looks great - it’s certainly not as “fine” a finish but the more pronounced grind lines have their own charm.
 
I got caught up in all the excitement! Yesterday I was firm on sitting this one out. Around noon today I thought, well, I'll look at the available extra options. Then at 4:50 I snapped out of being distracted by work, quickly logged in and snagged post #12. Went all in on the options. How can you go wrong?

Max, my reflexes have definitely slowed down and it is becoming more noticeable to me. I hope that this is not a harbinger for greater concerns later on in life as I age more. The specter of shatting pants and wetting the sheets is daunting as is eating liquid food through straws! However, I'll still live in a state of denial by blaming my repeated chokings during the Fridays' sales on Nathan posting way too many pictures, sentences and words in his OP sale threads, causing the refresh go into a tizzy before I reach the bottom of the page to reach the post template ;)

DEF2s were born as UF2 blanks. They transitioned into DEF2s, just like most of us here were born as males, some, like Casinostocks Casinostocks , have transitioned into something else by trimming off the extra bits.

I got #14 on Verizon LTE while on the highway with my fiancee looking very suspiciously at me as she drove us back from marriage prep.

I must have had the New Knife expression on my face.

Biggest change I've seen in the last few years of CPK is that there is absolutely no room for error anymore. If you forget, or you accidentally press F5 again instead typing a letter in the post box, or if you refresh in the subforum twice looking for a Friday thread or in the Fixed Blades For Sale subforum looking for a preorder thread, you just don't get a second chance anymore.

"You bought ANOTHER knife", or "what do you need ANOTHER knife for" - if you have not heard stuff like this from your sweetie yet, you probably will sooner or later, so stock up before marriage. ;)😀

Oh by the way, the limits on knife purchases do not apply to women's shoes, purses, etc. ;)

No, I actually have a good one, she hardly ever buys anything herself, and I got each of us a K20 in the pre-order. She is jonesing to play real-life Fruit Ninja. She carries a much-used Spyderco Delica that I gave her.

She only rolls her eyes a little bit when I buy something.
