I kinda' wanted to get into the melee and play a bit. However, my Basic SDFKs are serving me well, my knife "collection" in general has gotten ridiculous at this point (*to say the least), and I kinda' want to save my $cratch for something I really/REALLY want. Who knows? I may, eventually, try to score a Basic 5. As of now, I think my little SDFK/DEK2/Bahco Laplander combo is going to suit me just fine.

It appears that a Buddy of mine, who is fairly new to the Forum and REALLY wanted a Basic Five, is going to possibly get one. The pre-order made me happy for guys like him, who may not be able to score one during the brutal Friday drops.


Anyhoo, CONGRATS(!) to all who succeeded. As I posted above, I'm chompin' at the bit to see the pics of all the cool combos. 🍻

She really is a sweetie then - hang on to her, and take good care of her! My ex-wife was not so nice, and mentioned in the divorce settlement about trying to get part of my knife collection, and even suggested she should get one of my dogs - she was a real witch!

By the way, my knives were not part of the final settlement, and more importantly neither were the dogs (I got to keep both of them).

See it's this sort of thing that helps me, because I can show her every now and then how much the Bladeforums people like her and how they have good taste in all things and by the way I preordered a knife.

I got two K20s on preorder, two FK3s on preorder, a Shiv on preorder, the Abdominal Ventilation Tool now at Chad's getting pants, and a special deal that will not be spoken of with Nathan for something else he has lying around. At home - SS SDFK, Boot Dagger, and K18!

Been fortunate enough to have been hanging around CPK for almost six years, that sure helps. I've let go a bunch I miss, though. A UF with the last set of tri-rag micarta scales I think to be made. My DEF preorder (once I got it, decided I didn't like the DEF, but sure wish I'd optioned the exact same thing just with the regular UF2 and a sharpened swedge - full satin, shiny fasteners, popcorn stick handles that ended up being dark desert ironwood).

I really need another UF2, even a pretty basic one.

I really like the UF2, the BFK is what started my CPK journey. I had to grab a Sig version on the preorder. It would’ve been sacrilege not to.
 
Watching the sales threads lets me know exactly who NOT to sell to. Who the hell buys a CPK and then lists it right back up for trade 4 hours later? The original seller probably hasn’t even boxed the damn thing up yet 😂.

Treating knives like a commodity ruins it for a lot of people, like the few others that posted and probably wanted to buy that knife because they actually wanted the knife, not the ability to try and command a trade with it.
