As Jake pointed out in the "GEC Beagles" thread:

This Beagle thread is overrun with Coyotes. ;) I'm looking forward to seeing the Beagles! :)

…so I figured maybe we needed a Coyote thread since their starting to arrive. In fact, mine just showed up in the mail today! :D

I'm also excited because this is my first GEC with the PPP blade etch.

That's a good looking knife there, Barrett. I didn't think too much of these when I first heard about them but I'm really starting to like the looks of them now. Good idea creating a Coyote specific thread.

I realize that this is a rather small knife but sometimes it's hard to gauge the actual size. I'll put my vote in for an in hand pic or maybe a comparison with a Peanut or GEC #25 if anyone cares to oblige.

I don't really need one of these but a small knife like this with a single Wharncliffe blade is hard to resist.

Barrett, That's a nice looking knife! GEC did a great job with the jigged bone and choice of shield. I wish GEC would use unbranded classic shields on their other patterns as well.

I was one click away from ordering one last night. Got a Viper instead thinking the Vipers will be harder to get and I will have time to get the Coyote down the road.

Ask and you shall receive. Here's a comparison with a #25 and an even more ubiquitous small knife, the SAK Classic.

It is, to be sure, a very small knife, but I think I'll find it useful. It is pinchable (though it does have a rather light pull and opens easily with the nail nick as well), and it does have a half-stop.

Edited to add: Here's one in-hand for good measure.

Thanks for the pics and the clarifications. I just might have to snag one of these.

Both a great knives. I've been carrying a #47 Viper for the last couple weeks and really love it. There is quite a different in size between the Viper and the Coyote!

I have one on the way, and I'm excited!
When selecting a traditional carry for the day, I always like to have a small straight edge somewhere in the mix, so I tend to chose a stockman or whittler, etc. With a Coyote riding along in the watch pocket, I'm free to go with a single blade spear or clip. I believe this little guy will be an everyday carry pocket scalpel. Can't wait!

Thank you for he comparison pics! I have the same Coyote on the way and now I'm real excited to get it!!!

I second the request for an in hand pic. I love the looks, but the size puts me off a bit.
I was thinking the same thing but I almost always have a peanut in my pocket and the coyote measure slightly longer so I ordered one. If I don't like it I wil give it to my wife or son.

looks nice! perfect size for my uses, just had to order one myself. I was terribly tempted by the camo acrylic scales but could not say no to the jigged bone!

Looks nice, and this might be a dumb question, but what does the P P P stand for..?

I wonder what the odds are of getting one since I ended up having to wait until this week to even consider an order...

I was getting excited for this one and had no idea it was coming together so quickly. I've been planning (stalking?) the #77 run looong in advance but these sharp little fellas caught me snoozing, and now I may find myself out in the cold. :grumpy:

Thanks for sharing yours, Barrett, it looks every bit as good as I had imagined when I saw the GEC drawings and realized what a big niche this would fill in my rotation. Hoping the people who ordered in bulk are kind on the secondary market... :o
