Ahoy, captain?

I don't care for looks. Spyderco makes ugly knives, that is why I love them. The uglier they are, the more people love them. Just ask DODO owners! That thing looks like a tank, very well built. I am concerned about my pants falling though. The Captain looks like it will why more than a Colt 1911.

Dimensions
Overall -7.3125"
Blade - 3.188"
First re-curve knife I ever put on paper. I was skeptical until I held a prototype. I know it seems specialized; however, I believe everyone could find a use. We'll know soon enough...
My understanding is that before the final version, the Captain will be losing some weight

It reminds me of
14250.jpg
But more extreme in curvature ._.

There is a trend, no doubt. This project is over a couple of years in the making and I kicked the idea around on paper for a year to 18 months before that...
I settled on a strong curve at the front for skinning and scraping. The little hook that is formed at the transition has many uses. Yes, the re-curve is a great cutter and Syderco has done excellent with the grind

Thanks for the specs. Any realistic ETA?
I know that Sal doesn't like proto pix circulating until the finished piece is ~ 6 months from the release date. Are we that far along? Please forgive me if the info is elsewhere- I'm seriously ADD & right now I lack the attention span to do a bunch of cross-forum searches...

Tanks don't look like sports cars for a reason. This knife is designed to be used, not to win beauty contests. The more contraversy there is in regards to how the knife looks, the more that I want one.

It's on the very top of my most wanted list, but one thing:

PUHLEEZ SAL, MAKE THE CURVE FULLY SERRATED

2 hairsplitter
You are the one who designed the knife? The mysterious Jason Breeden?
Nice to meet you. The views are controversal, but the knife certainly have a look!

On my list of things that make you say uuugggghhhhhhhhhhhh
I'll have to pass on that one. I'm saving for a Manix anyway.
