Air Travel and knives

I know that air ports want passengers to call in if they plan on bringing guns onto the plane (checked baggage that goes under the plane obviously)... but should you do the same with knives? or can you just stick your knives into your checked baggage and not worry about it?

Yes. I have been taking knives all over the world for a long time with no problems. :):thumbup:

I think it would be wise to avoid taking things like autos but small to medium fixed blades and manual folders are fine pretty much every where.

As have I but like Haze I avoid anything dodgy...... As long as it is in your checked baggage you are fine.
Just be aware that a number of BF members have lost knives from their checked baggage flying within the US.
