Airkat Knives?

Hi Dwaine,

I'm sure you've been asked this a million times, but why no more fixed blades? Did you just get bored with them? Or tired of making those amazing sheaths? It's too bad because I've always thought that they looked like amazing knives. I love the designs, they are real works of art. I never really had the money but I always wanted to pick one up. I guess I could always get one on the secondary market.

I'm just very busy with the folders bro....and it's just a lot more fun building the folders to me than the fixed blades....I am going to build some more, but just not right at this time. Thanks for the good words :)

Well, if you ever offer to make some fixed blade knives again Dwaine, I'll definitely be in line to pick one up! I've got this folder full of photos of the apache's that I enjoy drooling over every once in a while.

I can only carry so many folders in my pockets... ;)

I second that! Any new fixed blades will be definately welcomed.

(Again, sorry for the necro-post. Just got back from Korea, the Ass-end of Asia)

dman this is an old thread.

Jefferey500dk you carillo collection gives me knife envy. Really awesome blades. You got great taste

I have two AirKat's, a folder (#7) and an Apache. Both knives are very well made. The folder is as well executed as any Stryder Ive ever owned, and the fixed blade is easily as well done as any of the Busse's I have. Duane is a great guy, spoken with him on the phone a few times. He tells it lke it is and does what he says. As far as the price goes.... hell I have a couple of M1911s that I have over $2,000 each in. Custom is just that, and you get what you pay for.

And the look on the face of an Iraqi when you pull a 13 inch Airkat is priceless..

Hey All,

Dredging up old threads is not my norm, but I got something to say.

I've owned a couple of Duane's Tripwires, used them, abused them... and they held up 110%, like the tough bastards they are. As a matter-of-fact, I gave one to a Brother, he's a Grand Sheikh... and Peshmerga. He edc's that Tripwire... really loves that knife.

I recently acquired a TORK NVTR (SKOR PIN). It's my daily carry folder... what an awesome blade!!

So, for those of you out there who have and love these great knives... I say, carry them with pride. Like the man says " BUILD-EM-BIG and STOUT or DON'T BUILD-EM-AT ALL.

As for you dainty little pantywaists out there who can't handle anything more than a pearl handled fruit knife, 'cause it's "too heavy"... well, I guess that's just your persuasion in life. Take your bad-mouthing somewhere else.

Better ease off on the steroids, Chrissie, you starting to sound tres butch! Almost masculine!

Hey Gronk... or is it Dork.

Sorry to have ruffled your dress... now go and take your estrogen pill honey... and be a good little girl... o.k. ?? :jerkit:

Very interesting...never heard of Airkat before. Their folders look pretty cool though.
