Airplane PSK

I really, really doubt that you could hijack an airplane with just boxcutters without the passengers totally disemboweling the hijackers, even before 9/11 (i still think it is a black op from the govt.). here is another thought that comes to mind. After the last school massacre the gun lobby was saying that if they had allowed guns on campus the students could have defended themselves and in theory killed off the bad guys right from the start. So how come in one situation people check shoes and "liberate" old ladies their small sewing scissors, when in an other situation they want the old lady to carry as much as she can weapons. It is the same government. Well if they want to arm their schools like a FOB in Iraq, so be it, but dont force airline passengers all over the world to go through all these totally pointless "security" procedures. Last time I flew, leaving a US military base in Bosnia in a Swedish C130, I and several more had to put everything through the X-ray. One 5.56 assault rifle, one Glock 17, multitools, weapon parts, knives, coke cans, flak west, helmet and carry on and stuff went through the machine just to make sure we didnt wear anything metal when we walked through the metal detector. well how XXXX stupid is that, why check for metal when you just loaded enough weapons to invade panama through the machine, just to pick it up on the other side. well, someone had orders, but whats the use. All our heavy stuff went straight on the C130 anyway and that was not checked. This episode even more supported my theory that almost ALL "security" things are just for show. We have the power and we command you to take your shoes off and walk around with a stupid plastic bag in your hand, just because we can.

I guess that most security people on the domestic airports here are people who have had that job for 10-20 years and can see what US airports needs a billion dollar machine to see. Who is the good guy who just forgot his SAK in his jacket and who is the terrorist. There is another thing as well, a more political thing, Sweden has never invaded any country since Napoleon so we have no fanatic enemies.... so a guy carrying a 4" knife in his bag is not per default an al qaida terrorist, but most likely a regular joe and he has no intention of using that knife to anything other than camping things.

ah i see, but thats for local flights in usa

if u go from country to country, u'd probably have to find a site for each country and then alter the contents of ur psk accordingly

as its local customs that search evrything

and i travelled back from poland to belgium yesterday and the polish customs agents were jerks but the belgians (when going the other way) were okay

International and country to country is a whole different ballgame. I wouldn't even try to carry a regular knife..... last time I flew out of Hong Kong they wouldn't let me carry my spyderco, promised to put it in a pouch for me and give it back in US....

of course, they couldn't "find it" on the other end, and I lost another to the airline thievs....

no but there is a diff between regular luggage and handluggage

i took my F1 and multitool in the ordinary luggage and that was no problem at all, altho it can be different from airline company to airline company imo

and yeah i remember from some other time i took a plane, that i forgot a folder in my handluggage and they called a cop to take it from me, and if the knife was any larger it be on my criminal record

I always have a small keyring LED light, which is useful for ordinary situations as well as emergencies.

Now I am by no means endorsing this, but the Swisstech Utili-key on my keyring that I usually forget about has never been noticed by security people. And if they do notice it, it's no great loss if confiscated.

i've carried my hotspark on all my flights for the past 2 or 3 years (probably like 10 or 15). I doubt it's a problem anyway since now bic lighters are allowed.

All this "security theater" is annoying though. I miss being able to carry my SAK on planes.
