Ak !

Sigh,...... even at those prices I'd still be selling at a loss. It's been modded(Banned) and has one of my favorite sheaths ever(Dwayne). It's one of the few blades I can't imagine parting with.

OMG!!!! This Busse forum makes me sooooooooo......jealous. I have always wanted one just one!!!!

I'm curious about the metalurgy of the INFI on the AK with a comparision of the traditional differentially heat treated strenght of a real Japanese Samurai sword. I have two Paul Chen's A Golden oriole Katana and a Shinto Katana... I also have two real Samurai's that my dad brought back from the Pacific.. "a cold steel one too" But I have noticed that the original swords are much thicker than the AK.. Is the AK, the ultimate sword in INFI, or does the older style have superior strength and cutting ability... Do any of you HOGS have a Bugei Katana made here in the US? I hear they are incredible..

This was my AK for about 15 years but it went out to a forum member who should be getting it today for a trade I could not refuse. Congrats to the new owner and if he wants to speak up he can. Sorry to all that asked me about this blade he asked the longest and the most. And he is a good dude

Bugei katana are nice and worth owning. But if you had to pick between a Bugei wakizashi or an AK, you must first ask yourself how important it is to you to own a traditional Bushido weapon. If you don't care about tradition and just want a wakizashi that performs better and can take far more abuse than any other bladed weapon in its size category, then get an AK.

EDIT: I guess I should point out that I do have a Bugei katana (Dragonfly) and my instructor has a Bugeo katana (Shobu Zukuri). They are excellent blades and perform wonderfully. If you're not chopping hardwood or helmets or anything extreme, the edge should last a very long time and the blade itself will last a lifetime.

But if Busse made a katana I'd sell my Bugei to buy it.

That is a very fine piece of equipment. I love how it has no choil!

nahh... both of you will be missing your respective blades... and will try to wash away the sorrow by playing with your new toys... while folks like me will be sitting here enviously staring at these photos...

If I remember correctly the blade is 18.5 in and mine mics out at .201. I have no idea what length the handle is or overall length as I can't seem to find a tape measure. I'm sure somebody knows.
