AKCKnives(dot)com - suspicious as a legit dealer. Anyone know better?

Started to order a knife from AKCknives(dot)com - really great prices - so it seemed - but when I went to pay I discovered I was sending money to an
individual from a “Hong Kong Trading Company”. The process of buying through PP was pretty fast and before I could slow myself down I had sent money.

OOPS - I better cancel my order. Too late! I DID NOT RECEIVE an invoice or statement from the company. PayPal has a process to cancel an order and request a refund that requires you to go through the company for redress before they get involved. So, to comply I spent several hours trying to contact this company through their web site contact form. They offer NO phone and NO email address - my messages were repeatedly flagged as having “an error, please try again later”.

I could not get through the PP refund process without info from the company but I had NOTHING. Finally I called PP and after a few minutes of discussion and explanation PayPal refunded my money without regard to any more need to contact the company. Pays to have been a PP user for a dozen years with virtually no issues.

I bring the BF member's attention. BUYER BEWARE dealing with this AKCKnives(dot)com company - they are not AKC Italy and I can't tell you if their knives are legit or counterfeit or even if they actually ship knives.

Scam site.

All of their knife photos are taken from BladeHQ. A common sign of a scam site.

When I Google their posted address, I couldn't find their listed street address in the state they say they are located in (Texas). But I did find it in California. A phony address is another common sign of a scam site.

OP: AKC stands for American Kennel Club which owns the domain which you have posted in error. The site which you are referring to in your post should be akcknives (dot) com.

Well, I suppose if I were making a case in court I would offer the following screenshots as evidence. I made sure to include the URL's in each screenshot. If one were to examine each of the first two screenshots, they would see the same knife, with the same BladeHQ logo's behind them, as well as "BladeHQ" in the upper right hand corner of the picture (red arrows). A legitimate vendor wouldn't steal photos from another vendors website. This is something commonly done by scammers.

The third screenshot below shows the "vendors" listed address. But a Google search shows that no such address exists. Posting a fake address is highly suspect.

Of course you can't prove anything to anyone if they simply refuse to believe it, or if they aren't familiar with knife scammer websites.

With your confirmation and encouragement I have reported this site to PayPal. Took a while to sort through the PP reporting process but
after a bit I was told to send a report to a PP PHISHING email address. I believe they will aggressively track down the legitimacy - or not - of this site.

Embarrassing that I did not notice that their photos are BladeHQ photos, complete with the BHQ logos in the photo background.

I'm of the opinion that any knife dealer you're not familiar with should be avoided. It's not like you'll get a better deal than the legitimate dealers. And if you do find a better deal...
