Al Mar alternative

Spartan Talos.

This is another great small, thin, lightweight folder. I wish they would make this one in carbon fiber, it would be even lighter and look very classy. I think Bill Harsey's designs have a nice classic look to them. Definitely not the same design language as Al Mar's designs, but classic nonetheless.

Thought you might find a size comparison pic helpful, OP. Personally, I like the Chaparral better than the Native. Good luck in your search...

Great pic, I never realized how slim that ikuchi is.

US QC should be the standard this or that particular company have for manufacturing this or that particular model.
If they are working with reputable Chinese manufacturer, I assume,
the end product should correspond to the Q standards set by the contract (this is where the US quality should be presented). I assume also, the justification is done by the company that orders the knife...
I understand your point but it have nothing to do actually with the Chinese, also - they are capable of some top notch manufacturing.
Also, this is completely off topic with the subject of this thread...

Hey guys I am looking for an alternative to the Al Mar ultralight falcon. I have one but would like to find something with a better steel( Al Mar had aus8). Also something that’s easier to replace. I was thinking maybe a Spyderco Native or chapparell?
I like the overall size and mid/front lock of the falcon. Any suggestions are appreciated!

It sure seems like Spyderco was anticipating your request with the release of its new Siren model. It's made in the U.S. and hearkens back to Spyderco's own Moki period of the late 1980s/early 1990s.

Any Moki made Spyderco is equal to old school AlMar. For the Falcon replacement, there’s the recently discontinued Spyderco Jess Horn.
