Alabama Woodland Survival week!

Hey everyone keep in mind that shot of us at the Mexican joint was all Jeff's idea. Jimmy and I were conflicted! I couldn't even finish my food I was so worried about the guys back at camp.

Just got Home, the Trip was Awesome.
Thanks again Jeff, Jimmy, Tracy, and Patrick.
Learned alot of great stuff, with some really good people.

It was a great time and Everybody should get in there and take this.
So what do you say Jeff, course endorsement/ Free knife? hmmm sounds like a good exchange to me.

No really It was a lot of fun, So you guys need to get building those boats, free trip for a bit of time, come on its worth it.

that doesnt look like the Cracker Barrel, WTF.

no that was the ongoing joke of the trip, just kidding.
they had to put up with us, I dont blame them.

Todd certainly doesn't look too conflicted about the guys left behind at camp, shivering and starving. That mexican joint must have had raw honey:)

Guys, if you've never met Reuben, he's one of the coolest people on earth and an incredible wealth of knowledge for anything related to knives or gear.

If you need to get warm, you can either: a) Start a fire with a bow drill or b.) TRY to start a fire with a bow drill. I was successful on my second try but then went 0 for 30!

Jeff is nice enough to catch something for the students to eat at night:rolleyes:

In case you didn't know, the Cracker Barrel special for Thursday is Turkey and Dressing and damn it's good! Beats eating bats!

What's funny as hell is Todd forgot his ID and left it at camp (he got carded by the mexican gangster waiter), so while the rest of us were drinking Corona with lime (while the students we're starving in the bush) Todd was pissed and had to settle for water.

What's even funnier is Jimmy looking like he doesn't want to be there in the restaurant while the students are eating Raccoons for supper.

Heath,

Appreciate the post and for being at the class. We had a lot of fun and learned some good skills, eh? I haven't laughed so hard since the last class. The cool thing about all these classes is the humor and getting to know everyone.

Yeah other than the starving and freezing it was great.
but I did get to know some pretty interesting people.
but I would do it again for sure.
so when is the next one? part 2 "hint hint"

I also took this class and had a great time. Learned a TON met and made friends with some amazing people. Just got home to NY and I'd rather be shivering in the woods with the RAT crew. Will see you guys again real soon. thanks Jeff, Jimmy, Patrick, Clay Reuben all of you for a job well done. All of you guys should make the trip if you can. I will not look at the woods the same again. Awesome pics Reuben!!

hey now, with having the basics of orienteering I could find the only bar in town by having the UTM coordinates, a topo map, and my ranger. thats a pretty good skill in my opinion. I feel pretty confident that I would find it now. cant say that I'd find my way home though.

Great pics Reuben!!! I can't wait to get in that class one of these days. All those Cotton Mouths makes me feel just like home here in California, the Rattlesnake capital.

Cotton mouths are nothing like rattle snakes! Not only do they not warn you they will also go out of their way to get to you. I've beat a few dents in the bottom of my boat down on the Chattahoochee river lol. I'd rather be dealing with a rattle snake any day.

This really was a great group of guys. Everyone kept a great attitude throughout the week and I think that plays a huge part in any situation.
