Alabama Woodland Survival week!

Those pictures are stellar! Looks like that is one fun time in the sticks.
I hope some day to try and join in.

Thanks for the postings, really enjoy em.

Todd certainly doesn't look too conflicted about the guys left behind at camp, shivering and starving. That mexican joint must have had raw honey:)

Guys, if you've never met Reuben, he's one of the coolest people on earth and an incredible wealth of knowledge for anything related to knives or gear.
Just checking in from Yosemite. I flew back to LA and my buddy picked me up from the airport and we went straight for Yosemite to hike and fight bears.

Great pictures Roger. Had a good time with you and the rest of the guys. After these types of trips all I remember is the funny stuff that can't be explained to anyone who wasn't there. It is like being part of a private club and the jokes seem so foreign to anyone else. By the way Roger if you are wondering what gear I'm running you already know--- Swiss Army Knife!

About that knowledge, I am a reservoir for useless info!

All of our trips always have a humorous side to them. Life's way too short to drink cheap wine.

I have sure enjoyed all the great pictures. Alabama is beautiful. I drove through a little piece of it on the way to TX a few weeks ago.

Boy...that certainly is a tiny little camera.
What's that petite little thing weigh? 700 pounds?

:D

You know you're a photographer when you invest 3,000 bucks in a complete head to toe ultralight kit to save weight and space for packing 3x more camera gear than you would have to begin with.

Those pictures show how great this trip is...
Amazing stuff... I'd like to do this sometime...

Now let's see the pics where everyone feels like coming back to civilization :D :D :D
those where they are shivering at night and all :D :D

Sorry, "camera" wasn't one of the permitted items to carry during that time. Water bottle (empty), knife and small survival kit were all that was allowed. I think there was some shivering though, it got down to the high 30's.

You'll just have to take it and see for yourself.

Whats up guys! Been lurking on here once in a blue but just wanted to say hi to all the friends I made while out on the Woodlands Ops course last April. Was in the woods last week in uostate NY with my dobermann and my wife and it was nowhere near as pretty as Desoto. Taught my wife some bushcraft stuff and had a pretty good time. Hope all you guys are doing well and hope to meet up again soon. Did they ever make the Rat Cutlery Hoodies? What about doing a level 2 woodland ops course? I'm definitely interested. I still keep in touch with Ted and we've been trying to get together for some range time or a bbq..just too damn busy! Well hope you're well and PM me here if ever in the NYC area.

Good hearing from you! Watch out for old Ted. He attracts a strange crowd and causes wild bulls to run loose in the streets.

Hope to see you back in Spring 2011. We're already halfway booked for that class.

Wild bulls huh? Well better not here in manhattan. God knows what NYPD will do to handle that. I'll see about booking up the spring trip here soon. Take care and good hearing from you too Jeff. This ESEE 3 is amazing. LOVE the sheath options man! Belt clip is on it now and it just pulled some BBQ duty...

Photos do not get any beter than that! Thanks for sharing the whole experience!!!
