Alan Davis Traditional Fixed Blade Knives

Noted Ash. But the folders aren't traditional designs. He needs to post them elsewhere.

Are you kidding me? My Alan Davis knives are not good enough for this thread? What kind of crap is that? Why dont we ask Alan if he minds if his work is displayed on this thread! Knarfeng I apologize for my spelling error but I didnt see a rule that said only certain Alan knives could be posted?

Ok calm down man. What he's saying is they aren't traditional designs and shouldn't have been posted in this thread under the traditional sub forum. Sorry to cause a confusion.

Someone else posted one of Alans folders on here! Did he get jumped on for doing so?! And I have a question for ya, what is a traditional Alan Davis knife!?!? LOL

There does not need to be a "Traditional" label in a thread title. This thread is in the Traditional Forum. Threads and Posts in this forum are to be about Traditional designs.

This thread started with some Alan Davis fixed blades. Fixed blades are a lot harder to quantify as to whether they are traditional or not.

For folders, "Traditional" means it opens with a nail nick and is pretty much a recognized traditional design. If it locks, it's on the order of a locking trapper or a traditional lockback such as a Buck 110 or Buck 55. As pretty as your knives are, they are not traditional designs.

I suggest you start an Alan Davis thread in the Custom knives forum. In that forum, the limitation is that the knives cannot be production knives.

Further posts in this thread are only welcome if they are about Alan Davis knives which can be classified as traditional.

No worries Ash. Poo poo occurs. Thread is open.

I beat you guys to this one in the For Sale area a while back. I love it, especially the handle ergonomics. The copper is really interesting too, a good aesthetic match to the stag. What a talented maker!

Wife almost didn't let put it in the collection though; she wants it for the kitchen. :)

My newest one is now sporting a very nice patina. I used it for food prep on vacation at the cabin last week and boy it looks sweet now. Photos soon.
