Just got back from another adventure. This time…Alaska! I bounced back between Ketchikan, Skagway, and Juneau, their capitol. I saw many things, mixed with the locals, made some friends, ate tons of Salmon, hiked, took thousands of pictures, played with some gear, learned more about their culture, and saw lots of wildlife. Did I mention I ate Salmon?

I used 2 Cameras on this trip, Canon 7D and three lenses. Tamron 18-270, Sigma Super Wide Angle 10mm-20mm, Sigma 50mm Macro Prime lens. The Canon G10 was always with me for quick shots. It is also easier to hand to people to take my picture rather than hand them a large D-SLR.

These images were taken from a bush plane flying over a huge Glacier.

A little too close (about 15 feet), notice the “camera around the corner of a cabin” shot!

This time of year the trails were still snowed over.

What a wonderful trip!
Thanks for sharing breathtaking shots!
The glacier, wildlife and the view, all are awesome!

Man, I live here and seldom see pictures that do it justice, but yours do. I'm just outside the big city, but all that beauty is still right outside my door. Great pix!

Just the other day I was wondering where you had gotten off to. I hadn't see you around in a while.

Excellent pictures! Thank you for showing them to us. Moar? Can has moar? :D

Wow. Just awesome Ruben. Ive always wanted to go up there.

You have some spectacular shots. That Bald Eagle, the running Salmon, all just excellant.

Thanks for sharing brother, you truely have had some awesome adventures.

So.....Where to now??

What is the significance of the blue ice at the Menhall Glacier? Looks like the magic H2O source for Bobby Boucher. Refresh my memory as to what causes the bluish coloration and so forth.

Many of the photos are good. I especially like the moss covered root shot. mussel shot, and the photos from Kethikan AK. Thanks for posting all.

Impressive shots! I would love to visit Alaska, and someday maybe I will. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the nice words; it was a great trip and a chance to “get away”.
About the photography comments, the truth is just about anyone could snap a picture in any direction and get a beautiful shot, that is the magic of Alaska, not me!
Happy to share.
