I’m not sure but when you get burl wood handles what appears to be flaws are actually the natural parts of the wood. I have a Albers Jack with red burl scales that look similar to yours. Imho you scored!

Was browsing eBay and suddenly it was there and at a pretty reasonable price shockingly, I rarely buy from there due to prices but couldn’t resist this one.
